Not easy. If you work for Comair or ASA, I would suggest going through another city---or 1 stop to ATL or CVG--like through CLT or CHA.....Good luck. The jumpseat is always open to ASA/Comair pilots on Delta though.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

Yeh, but priority is with the wholey owned's as long as no one from DAL claims it first and you show 15 minutes prior.

I tried a few weeks back and got bumped off 3 flights. All cause I wanted to save an hour. Ended up costing me 5 hours. There were a lot of folks trying to go home that night.

Pace (Vacation Express) also has a flight that departs around 8 am from CVG for ATL...........don't remember what time it headed back the other direction i assume around 8 or 9 pm from ATL to CVG. Worked awesome......... contract agents work the flights at outstations (CVG delta), just ask them to grab the captain ( great guys, they hardly ever get the chance to repay the favor of jumpseating).......he calls dispatch gets you on the manifest and your on......unlimited jumpseaters. I believe Comair does one of the Delta flights as well...unlimited J/S. Last time I used it was back in Jan......but I agree with the others when I used to do the commute regularly I would always check loads first........find a flight with at least 20-30 seats open, otherwise your sh*t out of luck. Lots of Non-rev's on holidays/weekends headed for the south. bottomline offline jumpseating on that route blows........if you drive up the road to DAY you will also have AirTran as a backup (unlimited Jumpseats!!!!). NEVERMIND!!! Just checked the website and looks like they picked up and moved to Orlando. So all you Orlando-CVG guys there's another option for you! it's out of SFB though and only 3 days a week

Whatever happened to the talk of a CMR ATL domicile? I'm sure this would make the ATL guys' lives easier and probably help out most of the FL commuters.

From what I hear, it's dead, just like DFW. The new rumor of the week/month is BOS....I'll believe it when I see the first BOS bid package.

I think Comair's new favorite phrase is, "Subject to Change."

ATL-CVG commute - it's not great but i've never missed a report. i usually try to go direct for the first try. often have to ride the jupseat. if i get bumped, i'll look to for flights through SDF, LEX, CMH, DAY, etc. the trick is to find the ones with the fastest connection times. CLT, BNA, CHA, TYS are alternatives as well, but sometimes there are big gaps between flights. CVG-ATL is much easier...

as for the CMR ATL base, a lot of the rumors came from our sheer numbers down there, but also because Flight Standards and other departments did some contingency planning. Delta has never asked us to prepare for a new base, but it was an obvious choice and they didn't want to be unprepared.

BOS seems to be the flavor of the month, although I still hear DCA and a resurgence of SLC talk...
