And the few with SWA, Airtran and ATA classes.

I know of the guys with SWA classes, but don't know of anyone going to Air Tran or ATA. If there are, these people are to be commended for keeping it secret. That is no small accomplishment at this company.

I heard we just lost one to Citation Shares. One more captain position open. I just wish some of the people above me would leave.

And the few with SWA, Airtran and ATA classes. I guess the lifer jet FOs must be disappointed knowing that 121 turbine PIC is 121 turbine PIC.
Are you reffering to the to the Check airman, chief pilot, and the very senior captain that have been there since the early 90's, have a ton of time and got hired 2 years ago?
You also failed to mention the ones who got turned down at Airtran, comair etc.. While some will get jobs at SWA etc... many wont, just look at the seniority list. For some sitting on the right seat of the RJ for a couple of years and having actual quality of life is more important than the PIC fantasy. lets not forget that once you have the mins and you apply, if your lucky enough to get an interview you still have to get the job. If i were to get stuck for a while I would rather be stuck at XJT. I do sencerely wish you all the best of luck though and hope you all land your dream jobs, just dont let Sullivan blow anymore smoke up your A$$es. You deserve better. Good luck.:)

how many pilots and planes does commutair have now?

TAB FO:
According to your profile you do not meet the minimums. Absolute mins are 900TT 100 Multi. Build some more experience and then when you meet mins you can apply. They really seem to prefer people with CFI experience although some do get hired without it. When you upgrade to Captain teaching will be a skill you need to have.

As a native of the Albany area (and current resident) I'd like to get my resume into the pile... the pile of people wanting lond-term employment at CA. I figure that another year of flying the strut-monkeys will make me interviewable. Am I naive to be considering a career at CommutAir? (Note: Student loan balance exceeds $60K)

Are you comfortable topping out at $40K after 10-12 years?

Assuming things haven't changed since I left, you'll make $18/hour 1st year ($16/hour first 90 days), a dollar more each year as FO, then to $30/hour when you upgrade, going up a dollar and change a year after that until you top out in the $40/range. (Maybe CA1900 can help out on the specifics) There's more to life than money and Commutair may be a good fit for you, but I find it hard to see Commutair as a "career" job. Who knows how long the 1900 will be viable, and management seems pathologically opposed to larger aircraft. Looking at their routes, I can kind of understand why, but at some point somethings got to change.

Despite my b1tching when I was there, it's a good place to work, but unless you have some extenuating circumstances I think you are selling yourself short considering CommutAir a career job.

The only reason that salary is even an issue is because of the student loan, thus the reason I included that info on my original post. The convenience of staying in my home region and the stability of CA as a company, combined with a reasonable upgrade time to left seat seem like a winning combination. I'd rather not give up flying skydivers, but that's probably not an option. When I started at ERAU all I wanted to do was tow banners, so I don't consider making a career out of a commuter airline "selling myself short";). Thanks for the advice, though! CA's website has said "not accepting resumes at this time" for so long now...how are the lucky few getting their interview dates?

well, than I guess that I'd better hope some CA pilots come to Mohawk Valley Skydiving to have a little fun this summer! Looks like I have a few more hours to go anyway...

Hey, make an offer! I bet there are a few crazies here who would trade a deal on a dive for a resume walk-in!

Where did the post from TAB Express FO go? Must of got the boot for stirring up to much sh!t. Anyway, those looking to apply to CommutAir can either find someone that works at CommutAir to walk in the resume, wait until the web site says accepting resumes, or go to AirInc job fair. They attend most AirInc job fairs and seem to recruit quite a few people who attend.

Good Luck!

Shamrock,

Not to change the subject, but did I see that "Pickle's" sued commutair?!?!?!? I am trying not to laugh to hard. All Commutair needs to do is put her on the stand and ask the jury if they would be happy with her (deaf & stupid???) ass flying them around.

Now where is my ESOP money???!!!

Btw, no offense to the stupid and deaf people out there. You just should not be pilots.
