To anyone that can help me out. I have an interview next thurs.
1. Is aviation interviews the best way to prepare
2. What should I concentrate on out of the ATP book
3. Jepp index and approach plates
4. Anything else I should look out for

Thank you

I interviewed with Commutair and the aviationinterviews.com gouge was 99% right on, it apparently hasn't changed for years. if you can pass the instrument written blindfolded, the written at Commutair will be cake. If you know everything about METARS & TAFS, and JEPP plates, your interview should go ok...just be personal...

Good Luck!!

I sure hope the company doesn't furlough half their pilots again anytime soon!

Not very likely, there are 3-4 classes planned between now and February.

Don't show up with METARS and TAFS memorized, it's pretty easy to spot. They want to see that you're able to read this stuff because YOU FLY IN IT ALL WINTER long.

There's nothing you can do about the Cog test, either you have it or you don't. The rest is just regular stuff, who you are, what you're like, etc. The written is pretty basic.

I would study weather, and maybe some more weather. What can you say about Low pressure systems and snow, that kind of thing.

Good luck.

Not very likely, ...

That's what we thought last time, with new-hire and upgrade classes scheduled indefinitely. Don't believe it can't happen again. Don't believe it for a second. Current rumor is that Cleveland hasn't turned out as profitable as we'd hoped... draw your own conclusions.

That said, it's still a much better job than instructing, and a pretty fun working environment. I wouldn't want to finish out my career here, but you could do a lot worse for a first airline job.

Wish I could offer more tips for the interview, but it's changed substantially since I did it. Good luck!
