Ixtapa

RON'd in Ixtapa back in January. Good airport (airline airport) with good approaches. They do take credit cards (I think we used Multiservice or did Mercury contract).

Stayed at the Hotel Krystal which is a typical Mexican resort hotel on the ocean. Nice place in a tourist area, and its about a one half hour cab ride from the airport.

zih

zih is a good airport, as mexican airports go.
i go there at least twice a year and stay at either the westin or the double tree. both are good. mexicans hate ixtapa and call it the city without a soul. that is because it was built strictly as a tourist spot. as such, you don't get the poverty that you see in some mexican towns. most of the locals that work there live in zih, and ride buses back and forth. it is about a 30min ride by taxi. last time i was there, i made the mistake of telling the taxi driver i was running late. i barely managed not to sh*t myself as the tsuru/ nissan sentra cab redlined it's way through and around anything between me and the airport. fishing is good there. i'm not exactly sure, but this time of year (or soon) there are as many as 3-5 species of marlin running in those waters.
