yes spinn555 you freak'n a$$puppet,

its because of people like you that we get paid as little as we do, I'm sure you would be happy to get a PFT job or even to pay per flight hour, so you could tell all your friends that you are an "airline pilot" and wear that airline uniform!!!

Spinn555, do you love flying an airplane so much that you're willing to live like a peasant? Come on man get a clue. I'm sick of hearing guys like you try and justify their sh!t wages. What planet are you from. TSA agents start out making more than you. Only a high school education required. I bet you're wife loves it when you leave town. You're probably one of those guys that can't carry on a conversation unless its about an airplane. Guys like you are ruining this industry and making it harder and harder to support a family without living in the ghetto. I can't wait till the novelty wears off for you, then maybe you will open your eyes.

Definately the Pay!!!!!!!!

Thank God the people I work with are excellent! Fun to hang with, and party with. It's amazing what you can tollerate if you are in a good positive work environment.

you guys should look into investing in real estate..if you dont have the money..go in on an investment with a friend. Condo's, a house on a college campus..(rent it out)..etc...

If everyone is so adamantly opposed to working for these peasant wages, then why do you do it? Hold out for that brass ring guys.

As much as it sucks to say it, Spinn555 is right. Market forces prevail here. And as much as it is going to suck to live on 19k I will be willing to do it, as well as every person coming up through the ranks.

And you want to hear some other disgusting truths.. Ill bet almost every one of you hypocritical ba$tards on this forum took the first vertical move you found, and worked for chicken scratch when first starting out.

Dont bag on someone who finally made their first real step toward a professional aviation career. And dont take what is written in someone's profile as gospel.

sure we all worked for "chickenscratch" first starting out....

but this F'n TOOL is talking about finishing 4 YEARS of college.......3 YEARS of flight instructing.......and 10 GODAM YEARS at his regional and then.........

he will be making 70K a year (!!!) and he says....

"thats not too bad"

think about it...

assuming he is very bright (oh yeah) and got out of college at 21. Intructed until 25 or so....now....he is at least 35 years old and just hitting 70K in aviation...

thats "not bad"

thats pathetic. truly something to be proud of.

Folks, we all like flying, its a fun job that gives us plenty of time off but c'mon....

I hope he prints out this thread, carries it in his flight bag and reads it after a few more years.

The reason we are professionals but not paid like ones, is because of who--res like Spinn555 and Crizz that "justify" our piss poor wages. I'm a professional, I should not have to go out and get another job to substitute my income. I can do a side business if I want purely for my own pleasure and to assure more finiancial stability in the future....but I should not have to do it just to bring my current wages as a pilot up to par with a decent wage of a normal professional. I started making 24,482.00 my first year as a Customer Service rep for a major credit card company. With no college degree. By the second year I was making 30,000.00 and moving up in the company, college reimbursment, great medical benefits, and I was home every night enjoying friends and family. I gave it all up to persue my dream and become a professional airline pilot. For you guys to justify this sort of crap, is exactly that....a big piece of crap. This is a scarificed job when it comes having a normal routine and social life. I should not have to sacrifice my family's life, my life, plus money on top of that. Stop bending over for the big guys on top that are making millions off our hard work and sacrifice.

I dont think anyone disagrees with you guys in the thought that pilots deserve a larger paycheck. We are simply discussing the reasons for it.

The only point I was attempting to make is that everyone preaching from the cockpit of an airliner has made the same scar on the industry that a "1000 hour dork" makes when they take a job for 19k. Everyone has been there, and it will continue to be that way as long as people find enjoyment in flying.

Crizz..stop and listen.

Nobody has a beef with the 1000hr dork who is estatic about the 19K "airline" job...these are quick turn jobs, time builders, get some and leave to better. they will NEVER pay good and probably shouldn't.

the problem we have is the 1000hr dork who says 10 years at an airline as a pilot and making 70K is "not too bad"

A career airline pilot job should never pay that after 10 yrs.

thats just plain PATHETIC and is the future with attitudes like that.

thats the problem.

dont let the "enjoyment of flying" jeopardize your future.
