DD thanks,

anaconda, I don't know dude, I hope so for alot of FL pilots, I considered it, thats why I asked Oz and Kunhiem, Oz said the union may have to settle it but it wasn't a NO. this is a QOL issue, Oz said it would possibly be just a 2 hour sim check out in the right seat, all approval of the association.

we'll see...the contract doesn't address it very well, or we all just can't find it in this crap.

now i am thinking i will be senior in JFK??????????

If you are already a captain, then yes, you probably will be senior in JFK, I would expect pretty much all future upgrades will be via jfk for the foreseeable future.
I know there are a lot of Orlando guys that are pretty much set for life anyway from other sources, they just enjoy flying. I can see some going back to 50K a year for QOL issues. I think it would be a decent option to not have to commute, for some people. Ask seniorty #932 how to bid down in equipment after getting displaced from MCO, since he did it.

Someone said that MCO/TPA will be a virtual base with no flight ops or crew room. Just check in, work, and check out.

How does that work? Will they be part of another LEC?

It sounds a little like CMR wants to move towards some outstation basing.

my guess, he was part of the double bid system as an instructor pilot and that is what enabled him to downbid. not available to your normal line pilot. ref. section 10A and 9D & E.

anaconda, I did it also, I down bid from 120 CA to RJ FO when MCO was lost, that was differnent than this.

these are new bases not closing one and getting displaced.

maybe the old seniority list, but 932 lost a leg and was OOC for a while, and never was a CA in MCO

i agree, that was completely different than this scenario.

personally, despite the kindler, gentler mgt face that has been put on, i don't see them letting capts downbidding to fo just because the commute is a little easier. too much tng cost. moot point for me, i am happy in CVG and not a capt anyway.
