Comair has a program listed on their website http://www.comairacademy.com/sections/experienced_pilots.html for 'Experienced Pilots' I assume this is some sort of deal where you pay Comair Academy and get a job with Comair the Regional.

I called and was told I needed more time to qualify for the program. Anybody know how much time you need, what it costs, how it actually works.

This would not be to get ratings, I assume this is for the guy with all his ratings already...

This is sort of like an employment agency scenario. Before the onset of the 'recession', Comair (like Flight Safety) used to do (maybe still do) a lot of pre-hire employment screening for regionals such as Mesaba and the like (at FSI its ASA). Cost is like $350 if you have the time and generally includes some apptitude testing, sim eval in a hot rod Frasca 242, as well as some face time with some HR types.

If you are accepted, i.e. you are able to do reasonably well on the apptitude tests and dont crash that crazy Frasca, your info might then possibly be passed on to any of the companies that Comair represents. Should any of these companies be hiring (including Comair the regional) and if any of the comapnies are interested, they then contact you to schedule more pre-hire screening which might lead to a job offer! Along the same lines, at one time Airinc was also offering similar type services as well. It is up to you whether or not the service is of value in the current economy.

Anyone know what airline is going to retire 50% of their pilots?
 
National just "retired" 100% of their pilots. How many did US Air "retire"? I hear United is thinking about "retiring" some more. I can't wait for those 30,000 job openings!
