Comair to Cancun!

It will be 7 day a week service out of CVG (year 'round) vs. Sat. only, as is currently operating. Equipment to be CR7 and possibly CR1's once a day with 2 flights on Sat. all operated by CMR. Delta is asking the gov't to ask Mexico if it can allow an exemption to the treaty to permit DAL to still operate mainline equipment vs. the CR7 on Saturdays and other times as needed. Additonally, ASA is losing the Monterrey turn out of ATL on May 1st...it goes to CMR also. Don't know why ASA is losing so many of its international flights out of ATL to CMR. But then again, DL never shows us the "big picture"...it must sure be pretty!

I looked in the Delta Sched and it shows ASA flight numbers in May fro ATL-MTY, where did you get your info?

Here we go again, pilots who actually think that pilots from other airlines are the ones to blame for how there airlines company management controls there flying. The pilots at Comair have no control over what routes they fly, and its funny how other pilots actually think we do. I dont think that when a Comair pilots goes to work they say to Management hey lets fly more in ATL and SLC and take over more of ASA, SKYWEST. Dude whatever The pilots at Comair, ASA, CHQ, SKYWEST have no direct control over what routes are being flown!!!!!!!!!!!!! All they control is thier own unions bargaining power to get better contracts etc. So pilots please direct your frustration at the right person your own airlines managment not your fellow pilots.

(I am an admitted exception, since i live in ATL) Did we accuse ASA of stealing our jobs when you got the DFW base that had been promised to us? if you think we're in ATL by choice, you're dead wrong.

obviously, DAL management is preparing for the possibility of an ASA strike. Take TLH for example, all of us fly in there, DAL, ASA, CMR, CHQ, SKW. Why? to limit the impact of a strike. but if you strike, it'll still cripple DFW and ATL from a capacity standpoint.

But if you want to believe CMR is out to get you, well, it's a free country...

My problem is that you seem to be enjoying your move into ATL too much. What a smug bunch you are! I can't wait to hear you howl when you get it back in a few years.

Are you for real? You honestly think we're stealing your jobs? If so, you sir, are an idiot. We have absolutely nothing to do with what routes we fly. That's management's job. And before you start calling us smug, just remember we didn't stab you guys in the back for the "concessions for growth" idea from Delta. IOW, we were offered all of the growth for some concessions and we said no primarily because that would have screwed you guys. Plus, and I think someone already mentioned this, we welcomed you guys into CVG without thinking you were "stealing" our jobs. And thank God it was you and not the others.

Back the "concessions for growth" thing. This is what separates us from the whores. We are standing up to maintain the bar. We will not lower it by giving up what we fought so hard to gain. We also did this knowing full well we could be "punished" and that's OK, I think most of us have our pride. And FWIW, I'm glad you folks haven't done the same thing (giving concessions for growth). I wish you guys well and I'm willing to help out however I can if/when you guys so on strike.

And as far as Atlanta goes, you can have it. In fact, I haven't heard a single person say they are excited about Atlanta.

Like SkylerS said, we are not out to screw you guys and destroy your negotiations. Doesn't it strike you as funny that the pilots who are supposedly stealing your jobs and ruining your chances for a good contract just so happen to be THE most expensive RJ pilots in the country?

And from the senior Captain to the junior FO's here at Comair, I heard nothing except "NO WAY, that'll screw ASA" when the company was offering us "lower pay for growth" very recently.

In fact, there's a full 2 page article in the DELTA employee rag this month dedicated almost exclusively abou thow Comair pilots (and to a lesser extent FA's) need to take pay cuts or its all over for us. Read it. You don't even have to "read between the lines" as its a point blank threat. And its not, as the General suggests, to "help out" the bottom line. Its to prevent our jobs from going to the low bidders for growth (you know who you are). Our CEO just can't stand that his peers got concessions (either cuts or lower the bar new agreements) a full 10% or less than us.

Yet you think it is us who is threatening your contract. By the time you will even be allowed to strike, you will have 150 RJ's plus the ATR's and be able to shut down 1/2 of DFW, 2/3 of ATL and cause havvoc all over the rest of the network. Us being in ATL is management's best effort to brace against the MASSIVE leverage you guy's wil have if able to strike. We shut down basically an MD-80 hub of much smaller proportions in 2001. If you guys remove that kind of capacity from ATL, with those widebodies going out below break even and 2/3 of the system feed out of the BIGGEST hub, Delta is going to lost a whole lot more in 89 days than they lost with us.

Delta knows this, and that's why they are using us for this TEMPORARY large presence in ATL. We might always be there, but we were big in DFW too, remember? They promised us ALL DCI growth, and our CEO even supposedly offered to put it in writing (full smapback provisions if we didn't get all the growth) and we said don't even bother drawing up the paperwork, cause we ain't interested. So look out lowballers, cause here comes the GROWTH!!

So don't think that the highest cost RJ pilots in the country, who have refused lower pay for growth (during a time when almost everyone else is doing it...you know who you are) are here to replace you. By the time you get Comair Plus we'll be entering into negotiations using your new bar as "the floor" as management puts it

So chill dude. There is no way on earth that the highest cost RJ pilots in the nation are in any way a threat to you or your next contract.

DL management does a great job of whipsawing all of us---and they do seem like they are getting ready for a POSSIBLE ASA strike--so they are trying to cover all of the bases----and any of your most profitable ASA routes out of ATL will soon be covered by Comair---no doubt. Expect it. So, after WE ALL take pay cuts or don't get huge raises (in your case)--we can all go back to our original plan of fighting each other for scraps........

Oh, so we're not stealing your jobs, we're just arrogant. Gotcha.

well, of course i would greatly welcome an ATL base because i live there, and i sure wouldn't miss the commute. it's got absolutely nothing to do with you. other than that, i would say that the vast majority of us would prefer DFW and especially SLC as a base instead.

the one big gripe everyone has about ATL is the ramp workers. again, nothing to do with you directly. certainly different from CVG, and DFW from the few times i went through there. we're not used to it, and some people get frustrated. i will say things have gotten a lot better in the last year.

i imagine some of the problem comes from us hanging out down in Ops, perhaps? i'll go down there and grab a nap when the company gives me one of those 3 1/2 hour productivity breaks in ATL. why that happens i'll never know. we don't get breaks like that anywhere else. Cut those down to less than 2 hours and i doubt you'd see us in there again. that said, any DCI pilot that gets stuck in CVG for any length of time is more than welcome to come to our Ops.

i'm behind you guys 100% in your contract talks. and i won't have any hard feelings against you if you take over half of CVG when it's our turn again... but that's me.

i don't think of us as enemies or even competitors, but you're free to think whatever you want...

Sleepy, get a clue...and nindiri, nice attitude to have..."as if it will change anything...." .....in my opinion that is what happened in ATL.......everyone just decided to give up on improving the ramp situation....then, watch out, in comes Comair, well yes, we expect more from the ramp people and won't accept less........so, until it changes completly around down there, and people stop being so lazy, we'll continue to make comments on the radio like (hey ops, we were due out 30 minutes ago and still no fuel)......you know what, I'll make one especially for you the next time I'm going through ATL on a sunny day, and I have one leg left until I can commute home to the west coast and I'm getting delayed by the lack of fuel which makes me miss my plane............what are you going to do during your contract talks, just say, well we're not going to get anymore, we might as well just bend over and accept this contract.....come on wake up......get some *alls and take a stand once in a while.......

PS and if you think we all want ATL as a base that is incorrect......unlike Captainv I have no desire, or need to be based in ATL let alone fly into ATL........
