General Lee makes Delta pilots look bad. General Lee makes all mainline pilots look bad . He puts a taste in my mouth that promotes anger and anomosity. This is bad for the industry as a whole.

But General's just a good-old boy. Never meaned no harm.....

c'mon you know the lyrics!

It is not "misery loves company" that motivates the posts of FDJ2, the guy hates our guts. You can almost "taste" it in every sentence. That is why he revels in whatever misfortune he thinks may occur. What's more, he's not alone. There are many more like him in the same place.

Call a spade a spade.
So true......so true. Its just plain frustrating that ALPA has helped create an enviorment that our own union "brothers" wish misfortune on each other. How sad it is....

New South,

I have been in trouble with the law since the day I was born. I also can't stop looking at Daisy's short shorts! Isn't she my sister? Lighten up genius.

Hey Newsouth - you just don't get it. If you were a Delta furloughee, you would want someone to remember that you still exist and also stick up for you. The General does both and he is adament about bringing them back into the flight deck as soon as possible. Sure, he can be a bit crass at times, but you would want his support if you needed it.

General Lee is not so bad. For the most part he tries to be honest and he gives us someone to debate. When he and the rest of the Delta guys go flying this board gets dull.

~~~^~~~
Thanks Fins. I enjoy this board and I really enjoy the banter between pilots---but in reality I mean no harm. I try to give my honest opinion on what I see, and often that is way off. But, I have big ears (literally) and I also listen to what is said in the ATL crew lounge. That can be a barrometer of what the "average" Deltoid thinks.... But, I am not a negotiator and I am not involved inside the MEC.
Bye Bye--General Lee
Reading some of the the General's rants and raves makes me glad that it's my wife that's the Delta employee at home and not me!!;) Only kiddin' ,General... Thanks for the lively exchanges!
PHXFLYER,
My responses are part opinion, part slam, and part comedy. I enjoy this forum a lot.
I hope a majority of DALPA have the good sense of the General!!! We can talk about scope, who's paying for equipment, et cetera, but the bottom line is we (Wholly owned and Mainline) are in this deep!! And, I hope GG's plan that is in place works!! I want the the furloughs back flying quickly and the future opportunity of doing 50% of the walk arounds for the General (I know General only when the sun shines!). See you all in ATL! cheers, Wil
Wil,
Not too many of our guys have great attitudes these days. But, when you get over here and we fly the 767 together, I will use the 50/50 rule when it comes to walk arounds. I will do it 50% of the time WHEN it is OVER 50 degrees F. Deal? I will buy the Starbucks and after hour drinks 100% of the time though.*
*= (During the first two days of a 4 day trip) Nice disclaimer...huh?
Bye Bye--General Lee
General- Thank you for the thoughts and post ;)! A lot of people are hurting right now at Delta! I met with a realtor that has met with 3 other Delta/DCI today! Our situation is not as dire in comparison (thank God) but these folks have kids on school, etc! Our Golden Retriever is totally portable! Seriously, I want the furloughs flying now and our Delta to be a vibrant, strong company that connects people from anywhere to everywhere!!
BTW, General, if we end up on the Emerald Isle I will pay for the drinks! Nothing like Bunratty Castle in Shannon or the Temple Bar District in Dublin!! Cheers, Wil
