I'm thinking about applying to Comair--have a few questions:

Are all the new hires going to JFK? If so, roughly how long before I could get CVG?

About how long on reserve?

Also, I've heard they're hiring 60 pilots/month. Is this just to cover attrition or is there actually some possible growth on the horizon?

Thank you!

Not all new hires are going to JFK (most are), but if you do you can leave pretty quick. Some people with less than a year can hold MCO but that will probaly close.

Reserve depends, cvg on the 50 1-2 yrs, 70 forever.

Hiring is due to attrition.

Growth, nothing to speak of.

1) Yes, all new hires are going to JFK for the most part. Occasionally elsewhere but I would bank on JFK for at least a short while.

2) In the past, new hires have been able to get back to CVG within a few months. Not sure what the current wait or future wait, if any, would be.

3) I started in the summer of 2004 and am now just getting a consistent line in CVG. Could have held a line in GSO or JFK long ago. Currently newhires are getting lines a little quicker than I did.

4) Current attrition about 17 a month. It was about 31 a month prior to the bankruptcy claim payout announcement. I anticipate it to pick back up between 30-45 a month once the claim is paid out in about 1-2 months.

5) Possible growth...well your guess is as good as mine. Nothing but shrinking in the past three years. We will see what will happen. Many rumors about us being sold by Delta. Could be good or could be bad...just depends on who is doing the buying.

Good luck on your choice!
