It's the new union thing - have't you heard. EVERY union with a gripe is hauling out the huge inflateable rat - or maybe it's the same rat being passed around. He/She (or maybe it) was up in New York a few months ago supporting the housekeeping staff in their beef with the hotels.

Although I support the cause, I'm not sure what I think of this rat. It seems to be kind of an immature cheap-shot. We need to be professionals.

apparently senor rat made an appearance in MEM with the distinguished men and women from 9E as well

I don't think its the same rat. The one at the Delta events looked like it had big fangs. The Comair one looks like it has big fangs and big wirey wiskers. I wonder how much a big inflatable rat costs? Wonder if it is much more than a big inflatable Santa. You could put the rat on your lawn with a Santa hat and a picket sign for your Christmas/anti-management decoration/demonstration.

One of the local heavy equipment sales/service centers had a strike and the union had their big inflateable rat proudly floating around the parking lot. It was a male rat by no mistake. Classy!

Yeh that boat left the harbor - as others have pointed out Mr. Ratty is a staple of ALPAs picketing strategy.

Nothing says blue collar like an inflateable rodent speaking for you.....

FYI....Pilots are every bit as blue collar as mechanics. We are labor plain and simple and the sooner you stop living the illusion that you are some type of irreplaceable "professional" the better off you will be.

Make no mistake, management will do whatever it takes, drop to new low levels to feed their greed. It's time pilots stop acting professional and stoop to their level. They need to feel our anger. They need to be up at night scared to sleep. They need to have guards walk them to their cars. Only when this happens will pilots have some ability to negotiate. Call the Italians if that's what it takes.

I wonder if you can rent a giant inflatable weasel.
