Got a couple of questions about initial training. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

- Is it easy to find a crashpad? About how much?

- Would you recommend bringing a vehicle or can you get by without?

- Is there anyway to start studying before you get there?

- Does your seniority start on day 1 or when you finish?

- Any other info sure would be appreciated. Thanks again.

i'll be the first to weigh in...

- Is it easy to find a crashpad? About how much?
although i didn't have to do this, i have seen no shortage of advertisements for crashpads ranging from 125 to over 300 and up. places to look include flightsafety, the tng ctr, ops pilot lounge.

- Would you recommend bringing a vehicle or can you get by without?
in the hotel shuttle is provided, but once you start crashing i think it would be tough unless you mooch off your crashpad buddies the entire time. personally, i go crazy without one.

- Is there anyway to start studying before you get there?
not really, and there really isn't a need imho

- Does your seniority start on day 1 or when you finish?
day one

normally, yes. we have a classroom tng facility behind our hq for ground tng and flightsafety is down the street with crj sims. i have heard of crews going to mem or yul for sim but it is rare from what i understand.
