Would anyone like to comment about the fact that Comair is losing flying? The source is Delta’s traffic report (May and June 2005). ASA’s flying has been in a steady increasing trend but last month (June) Comair had a drop of 3.7% when compared to June ’04. I thought Comair was taking new airplanes and furthermore taking them from ASA. If that is true, where is Comair’s increase and ASA’s decrease in available seat miles? What good are new airplanes if they do not add flying to the system?

Well sort of, we gave Comair 10 of our airplanes because they had the same leasing company as Comair, but we took delivery of 12 ex indy planes last month. So ASA did not lose any airplanes. And we have been steadily taking new airplanes since the beginning of the year at a rate of about 1.5 a month. We converted 4 50seat orders to 70 seat orders and they are also already on the property. So we have not lost any seats , we have added seats.

Well not quite. I'm only aware that Comair has taken one of our airplanes so far (862AS) and we have gotten 3 of the Blueridge aircraft plus 2 brand new CR2's and the 4 CR7's in the past month or so.
