Someone is in serious need of Deets.

Any one know what happened to this flight?
Well I'll hazard a guess...
I'm thinking the FO, who was wearing cowboy boots by the way, may have gotten the runs and decided to stick out the remainder of the flight in the lav. The CA decided to divert in order to get the FO some new underwear.

The big deal is that KSUA is a private SUPER noise sensitive NON AIRLINE airport. I am sure that Comair does not have charts for this place, and the runways are pretty short....
I know, I fly in there with my company alot. They probably should have went to MLB up the coast, but what do I know, I wasn't there.

Deets...

Airplane held for a while, got to bingo fuel, checked the WX at PBI, it was bad, so they landed at the nearest suitable airport.

...who cares?

Ya know, this is the first time I've ever heard of anybody at Comair going to an offline alternate. Anyone else?

I'm almost certain they do. They carry around a "Brick" of off-line charts with airports that you haven't even heard of. They don't get opened up often, but that's what they are there for.

You don't need 10,000 feet to land a regional jet. They were almost out of gas so they were light. I doubt they got out with 76 passengers though, probably bussed them all to MIA anyway.

This isn't a story...sometimes things don't go as planned. I can think of about 1,000 things that are more interesting than an airliner diverting.

On another note, why did you call it an "emergency?" Were you using a sensational title to garner attention to yourself because you are so unoriginal that you can't add anything relevant to Flightinfo?

I spent most of indoc asleep but I dont think a 121 carrier can take off with passengers from a unapproved airport? Runway lenth has nothing to do with it.

I may be missing the sarcasm, too early to tell. Otherwise, a Comair CRJ 200 had a quick flight from ATL-RMG Rome, GA when the flight attendant decided to set the lav on fire a few years back.

There is a requirement for CFR for anything over 19 pax. You can go there in an emergency (like the potential of logging CRJ glider time), but I doubt they could intentionally operate (ie takeoff) there. Maybe if they had the local FD there standing by for the one time, but I really don't know.
