Let the games begin !!!!

NEW YORK — Delta Air Lines Inc.'s (DAL) regional unit Comair said Thursday it will cut up to 1,000 jobs and trim its fleet by up to 30 aircraft in support of Delta's overall bid to reduce expenses in bankruptcy.
Comair will also seek to reduce wages and benefits for its pilots, flight attendants and mechanics, as well as white collar executives' salaries. The moves aim to cut Comair's costs by up to $70 million a year, Delta said.
Delta filed for bankruptcy last month and soon after announced a plan to cut up to 9,000 jobs, or 17 percent of its work force, as part of a bid to reduce costs by $3 billion.
The $70 million Comair (search) is targeting is part of the $3 billion Delta goal, Comair spokeswoman Katie Moser (search) said. The job cuts, equivalent to 14 percent of Comair's work force, were not included in the previous Delta figure, she said.
Of Comair's 7,000 employees, 5,000 are based in Cincinnati, Ohio (search), where the carrier is based. Comair said the job cuts included 350 positions it had already announced it would cut as part of a reduction in service from the Midwestern U.S. city.

This is getting crazy...
