In case anyone was wondering (and if no one has already posted this info), the next two class dates are Oct 4th and Oct 24th. I'm also told there are no other classes scheduled for this year, but that can always change. Oct 24th will have 12 in it. Hope someone will find this info useful.

Yea.. that's what they said after the July class. We've had 3 or 4 more since
then....

The latest vacany bid shows 30 CRJ FO slots open.

What is generating these vacancies? New AC, or guys moving on due to retirement and jobs at Air Tran, SWA, Jet Blue etc? Or a combo?

new class for comair new hires

Does that mean that the "cry on flightinfo.com website and bitch about your flying so you can act like a pu55y" class will also be held just after the 4th and 24th of October?

I've always wanted to be the prick that started something on these stupid message boards with those comair tools.

lol

We're told many of the vacancies come from delayed return of military pilots over in Iraq. They planned for a certain amount to come back but it didn't work out that way.

I don't understand stupid... Could someone that does, translate this please. The only thing I got out of it was he's a prick.

I know there are also a lot of F.O.s leaving and a lot more thinking about it.

There is no upgrade in sight so it scares some F.O.s.

I know an F.O. personally that was just shy of 2 full years at Comair that left to NetJets. I've heard of another that left to Execjet and one to NW's Pinnacle.

Can't blame them. Comair won't grow for a while so F.O.s are stuck at cruddy F.O. pay an no chance to get the MUCH DESIRED PIC TURBINE working for a company CLOSE TO BANKRUPTCY.

For an F.O. that would be scary. Especially with a company that may go out of business and not EXIST IN 5-10 years!! Might as well look for another profession if Delta tanks and you only have SIC TIME at a regional. THERE WILL BE SO MUCH COMPETITION FOR THE JOBS OUT THERE THAT ARE AVAILABLE. Delta is doing horrible, and will Delta be ALIVE in 10 yrs?? No one knows. If you've only got F.O. time when a couple of the airlines go out of business soon, GOOD LUCK.

Good luck to everyone associated with Delta, and LET'S all HOPE MAINLINE GETS HEALTHY AND PROFITABLE REAL SOON!!!
RA RA G-O MAINLINE!<-----Cheerleader scream

I'm in the application process at ASA...and I've hard the upgrades there aren't much better. If it looks as though Delta is going to take a turn for the worst, I'm hoping that my Citation type and PIC time will be enough to run to NetJets, Flight Options, or CitationShares. Never hurts to have a few backup plans.

ASA is not much better than Comair right now. With the close of DFW, ATL will be saturated. We do have 25 airplanes comming next year, but that doesn't make upgrades happen much faster with some ATRs going away. After those 25... who knows. ASA plans to have 500 departures per day out of ATL by the end of 2005. Have you been there lately? Gunna su_ck!

Yup. My main reason for ASA is that being from Georgia, ATL would be an easy domicile for me. Its hard to find any airlines with a decent upgrade right now, so I guess the only thing I can do is hold on and hope that Delta gets turned around.

Hey all, Remember that "crummy FO Pay" at Comair is the same as Captain pay at most other regionals.Waco

This is very true... 2nd year pay on the 50 is more than I was making as a 4th year B1900 captain.

Just some help to the original post:

Crew Planning told us that there would be at least one class a month for the rest of the year.

I bid for A1 window and always get switched to A4 or A5... I bid to make my commute a little easier and no.. can't have any of that!

It won't matter much this month.. with all you guys getting your first 100 hours, I'll be lucky to do a SBN out and back!:)

What idiot left Comair to go to Net Jets? NJ is in contract chaos, the upgrade outlook there is worse than at Comair and the pay is less!
