Rumor has it a JFK base will be announced very shortly. One of the CPs stated it would be a very small base.. 100 crews or so.

Time will tell

Now, for the rest of the story...

No disrespect meant to chperplt.

Prior to the 2001 strike, DFW was, allegedly, a done deal. The strike made that fall through. I don't know if it's true, or not.

Then we heard ATL. CMR management went to higher level management and told them we (CMR) didn't want to be a bargaining chip in the ASA pilot negotiations. They also wanted a 10-year guarantee that an ATL crew base would remain open. ATL didn't happen.

Now, the rumor is JFK. We've also heard RDU or CLT.

What will be happening in the near future is a new maintenance facility, operated by CMR, at a yet to be determined location. That announcement might be closely followed by the announcement of the next crew base.

Fly safe!

Don't listen to Chpr or Slim -- there are several bases.

I'm based at HNL. You just need to know how to surf and agree to wash Randy's car. I don't know why everyone else insists on flying out of Kentucky!

You can add GSO and BOS......but I imagine there are several old "Brakillya" jocks wanting ....ta dah..MCO.. which by the way has a very nice maintenace facility in waiting!
:D

looking for traffic,

i am offended, I cannot put surfing and washing Randy's car in the same sentence, you are drinking too much kool-aid, especially with the photo of the RG car.

those of us that truly surf wouldn't wash some kooks car in somehow time for surfing.

HNL...however, clever, I like the idea of a HNL base!!!

Krusty:

Consider the impact of sea water on a brand new Cadillac SUV and you'll understand how it's possible to surf and successfully car wash simultaneously!!

So my surfing hood is T-Street in San Clemente (which is another Comair base); how about you?

Salt Creek -- man that brings back memories!

I don't think I'd want to be 16 years old all over again (adolescence is a beaatch) but I sure had some fun fumbling around in the sands of So Cal!

By the way -- going back to the original thread -- did you guys hear anything about the new Comair crew base at F35? I mean, where the heck is Graford, Texas anyway? Can you surf there?

You two need to be men and head down to the wedge. Look for the guy wearing the black socks, I'll buy you a beer.

So Cal

Graford, maybe if you find a hill with a lot of sand.....get a wakeboard, knock out the skags and surf down the hill? Or maybe buy a skateboard, geez, I don't know!!! I'm landlocked in Atlanta, I haven't surfed in I don't know how long, should be a crime!! Dam I miss it!!!!!!!

Trojan --

I brought my board with me 15 years ago when I moved to the midwest. It was a Sunset Custom V-tail and I couldn't bear to part with it; I knew my old man would sell it if I left it behind. I have it hanging in my home office now just in case they have the "big one" in Cal and my landlocked home becomes seaside property. If that happens, I'll be looking for Russ surfin' that last big wave in his black socks.
