Comair 2nd. base???

Hi all,

Could anyone conform, that Orlando (MCO) is Comair's second base, and if it is, from when???
Second thing, where are new hire mostly going, to CVG or MCO(?), or both?

MCO base is gone.... (October 2002 mabye?) CHQ now has a base there.

CVG is the only domicle for Comair. All new hires are based in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky

CVG is Comairs only base....But Hold on a moment....THey have more flights out of ATL than ASA does......HMMMM...Maybe an ATL Base? Who knows....I do know it is costing a very large sum to overnight comair crews in ATL.....Where is the savings????

45 jets should be divided between Comair and ASA......not some prostairline!

Comair has nowhere near the amount of flights out of ATL as ASA does. That was either an exaggeration or an attempt to be very misleading.

I expect the vermin to have a base in ATL, just in time to weaken the impact of an ASA strike. I have listened to several fine Comair pilots comment on how much they like taking over ASA flying in ATL. I can only imagine what they would be saying if the roles were reversed. I guess we will see in a few years.

Did'nt you know that comair pilots are GOD'S GIFT TO FLYING....They are awesome and they are at the top of the food chain. Most guys at comair are cool but there are to many pilots that think they are awesome because they fly an RJ and work for comair. Flying is 50 % attitude, 20% aptitude, 20% dumb luck and 10% Skill. Chose between an overnight with a comair ,ASA or a CHQ crew.......humm....if I wanna have fun I will chose the ASA or CHQ crew! No offence to most of the Comair pilots who actually are pretty Kool. I am really not pissed at comair pilots from taking away my lines in ATL........Now on reserve! Who to blame is not the pilots but it is the Management. Fly on Mr. Krugger.

well, guilty as charged in my case, since i live in decatur and i can spend an extra day at home.

actually, most people would avoid ATL given the chance. too many airplanes packed into too few gates, with ramp workers who are overworked. and don't forget the always welcome 3-hour productivity break between flights.

but at the end of the day, we're doing what we're told. but i can't blame you for how you feel. how often do i hear someone bashing CHQ because we lost Orlando? like the CHQ pilots made the decision?

anyway, don't get the feeling we're your enemy - that's exactly what management wants. every time i hear ASA mentioned in Ops, it's something along the lines of "man, i hope ASA gets Comair + 10%."

Most guys don't have any problem with CMR, it's just frustrating to see a lot of our flying farmed out...especially from our main hub. I think there would be a lot less stress if our contract issues were resolved, that's generating a lot of anxiety right now.

If we do strike, i would have to see Comair taking up our slack. But, in the end I know Comair pilots have little choice--as do we.

Guys/Gals, Captainv hit it right on the head (and he knows in my case)....I hate going through ATL...........of course I'm partial to a Salt Lake base........anyways, management loves when we turn against each other, and it just doesn't involve ASA and Comair, it involves the whole industry.....pilot groups against pilot groups helps noone except the management......we need to group together, and start taking more steps foward, rather than taking 10 steps backwards like we've been doing over the last year........every time one of the pilot groups bends over for more flying, the Company makes more money, but then the pilots make less.....it seems counterproductive to me......
