i love how all the pcl guys think they are going to buy colgan like its some public company up for sale. Colgan won't be sold for this reason alone: you would put the entire extended family out of work! There is a colgan in every office and every dept in HEF. IF PCL wants a cheap saab operation, they should go look at regions or Mesaba.

Chuck will never again sell the family business; it burned him once and he had to buy it back to save the company's employees and his family. Although I did hear that we are putting out a competitive bid for Delta!

I think the big question is who is the mystery buyer that is trying to pick up regions air. I hope for the regions pilots, it's someone worthwhile. Quite a few of our older cpt's are x-jballers!

Man you colgan guys really took a bite out of the Saabs that were in Millington. I drove up there today and there are only 5 left. Well four and one that has a prop pulled off. Good for you all.

Hey,
Is anyone here a little worried concerning our growth? I just wonder how we are able to sustain this and still turn a profit given the costs of fuel, outfitting some new Saabs (inspections and ferry flights for the heavy checks) and whatnot. I know Colgan tends not to jump too quickly, that growth is a good thing, but how do you guys think this will all pan out? How much does this stuff cost us? I just wonder.....

Are these Saabs that are in Memphis (or wherever) 'earmarked' by the leasing company that currently leases us a bunch of Saabs? Anyone know? I heard there are like 10 (maybe less now) that are mothballed there and possibly will get tuned up for Colgan. Finally, is there seriously some announcement this week or just BS?

-Snaab

P.S. Beech Balls- ferry flights are the best, man. I don't care how much Colgan wastes on them. Nothing like a balls-out ferry flight where you can really see how she dances!

Snaab a ferry flight should be treated just like any other flight. We are professionals and a business like environment should be maintained at all times. We should not fly any different if there is passengers onboard or not.
-FAA

O so does that mean we have to remind ourselves of the postive and negative G-Limitations? You know bob hoover can perform a plus one G loop!

What's this I hear about Pinnacle buying Colgan today?

Mr Wu,

ahhh yeah, those are the Dash's I am talking about. I have a buddy who works for them based in ALB...His CP told him the whole company was going to CLE, and that the first class of Dash guys are almost through. :cartman:

Story by Gabe Gutierrez Email | Bio

BRIDGEPORT -- After months of mounting frustrations with its current air carrier, the Benedum Airport Authority voted Wednesday to endorse Colgan Air as its replacement.
Colgan Air said it will provide 19 non-stop and one-stop round trips per week to Pittsburgh. The current carrier, RegionsAir, makes round trips through Cleveland.
The airport authority expects Colgan Air to take over in early March.
"We need to think positive," said Ron Watson, the airport authority's vice president. "Colgan Air has more substantial experience than RegionsAir." http://www.statejournal.com/click.cfm?adid=134
RegionsAir has filed an emergency request to get more money from the Department of Transportation to maintain the air service it offers now.
The request asks that the carrier be allowed to make schedule changes starting Saturday.
RegionsAir is also asking that it be allowed to run these shortened schedules until another carrier starts providing air service or for at least the next 30 days.
At its meeting Wednesday, the airport authority also expressed concern over the high cost of de-icing aircraft. It spent about $2,000 Wednesday alone. RegionsAir is supposed to reimburse that money, but the airport authority said it hasn't done it for months. "Words cannot fully express our frustration with (RegionsAir)," said Jim griffith, the Harrison-Marion Regional Airport manager. The airport authority voted to give the carrier until next week to respond, or else risking shutting down its service.

Word just came out that the Big announcement is too big to announce! They don't want any undue injury due to the size of the announcement.

Growth??? What growth are you talking about? They didn't have an upgrade class in January, and I've heard nothing about a February class. I want some cool-aid, because I'm choking on my FAT PAYCHECKS! Pulling down just over $300 a week, baby!

Shy
