HUH??
Our contract Codeshare w/ US Airways is up in a year. After that who knows, maybe we'll become a "connection" instead of an Express. US Air has said no 'mo props yo. 3 regional carriers- Solid jet. Check the press releases on usairways.com

This place operates on rumors...

Colgan mainline... Please...

I asked the same question. The loads out of JST don't support a Cessna, let alone a Saab..

Cessna 172 that is...

I flew Saabs into JST and AOO for 2 months, it was the longest 2 months of my life. The loads were pretty good but from a pax point of view I think most days it would have been better to drive.
(Not due to my "firm" landings")

Colgan Rumors...... Yea, we were getting Jets in 2000 when I worked there. What a joke.......

Go Bucs!

I spent a month in AOO one day. A f-n 30 minute drive from the airport to the city.. No hotels near the airport. What's up with that??

I spent an seeming eternity in lovely PA one fine night when I decided to down my airplane in AOO... Too bad our hotel was in JST!

Got to share a ride in a Chevy Caprice with two passengers and my crew... And the driver of course, with baggage for two pax and three flight crew crammed in the trunk... For the scariest hour of my life. The driver seemed to be mentally retarded from the quality of his speech, not to mention the way he drove that overloaded Caprice through an ice storm to get to Johnstown, never you mind that he was an Altoona guy and didn't actually know how to get to the hotel in the middle of Johnstown!

At least my FO was happy, he had a very attractive FA on his lap for the hour-plus drive. :)

(as for why "I decided" to down the aircraft... Imagine hard IMC, at night, ice everywhere, and comm #2 won't transmit on anything other than guard frequency! Never mind what the numbers are in the radio's display, it was xmitting on 121.5 no matter what!)

Hey gang,

Central PA isn't so bad......As long as your not in a hurry to go anywhere and aren't looking for alot to do!!!! :)

Anyway for the guy who did the "Altoona/Johnstown Shuttle" at least you didn't have to deal with the hour La Garbage taxi or the wonderful Philly Gate people,,,,,,,,

I always liked flying in and out of the smaller cities it's easy, quick, and you didn't normally have to worry about 757 wake turbulence or PRM procedures!!!!

Peace.......

I hear we are puttin the saab in JST cause the Pa gov got all pi$$ed we put the Beech on it. Something to do with the EAS deal. Yeah the AOO drive does suck (really bad at 4am) from the hotel to the airport. But at least the hotel people are cool. And dont forget about the arcade man. haha. But the hooters girls there are top notch.

That may be, but state pressure didn't keep the Beech out of PQI for all those months... I see it as a Saab base for a few months then it'll go right back to the Beech.

the big cheese himself said last week, due to new weights, we're bumping people in Johns.....new eas routes in Bradford, jamestown, 4 more saabs, DCA slots, no more beeches, all c backs after new year...kept 'em for tax reasons, cheap saabs mean more saabs, plenty of new things next year as wholly owns park more planes................

then we wake up and realize everything is still the same.

I flew with a JST FO a few weeks ago and he says the loads suck, plain and simple. I flew in AOO early last months and the loads just pain sucked there too. The Saab is going to JST because the master plan calls for it to go there, and just as soon as that master plans changes (as it does daily/weekly/...even hourly) the Beech will be back.

It's what I like to call base hopping. The loads aren't good on the Beech, let's toss the Saab at it. Hey, what do you know... three weeks into the Saab and the loads haven't picked up yet...let's throw the Beech back at it. How many bases have we seen go from one aircraft to the other....... and back again.

I heard that the c's will be gone by the end of the year.....

........when I started in early 2000!
:D  ;)
