Does anyone else hear that Colgan may be moving into the midwest? I read in my local newspaper on July 28 (in Southern Illinois) that Colgan was involved with negotiations for an EAS route to fly from Marion, IL (MWA) to either Midway or O'Hare. Got a call from a friend today saying in a Sept 19 article that Great Lakes and Mesa are definately out of the hunt and there are still two carriers interested(unnamed in the article) one would be new to the region and the other is familiar with the Illinois market.

Not that it's unpossible, but why would they do that? Regions already goes from Marion over to STL and Trans States goes up to ORD.

Yo, who cares. Ghetto routes for a ghetto airline.

I hope they make it down here. There are a lot of students from Chicago that attend Southern IL Univ. I know it would attract a crowd...

You sure it wasn't Midway? There's no 121 props into Ohare at this time.

Hey Hillbilly, thanks for that, I'll be alright. Let me know if you and your new male lover want to see Brokeback Mountain togeather, I'm sure Mike November has a spare copy or two he can loan you.

Easy certified boyfriend stealer. I'm sure you will do just fine at your new job and if not just get up dust off your knees and try something else.

I was ease dropping on Colgan and heard that we will fly from ORD-HELL and back again! NO de-ice needed!

unpossible :erm:

Doesn't the fact that 2 airlines serve the airport make it non EAS?

Unpossible is a perfectly cromulent word. ;)

Is Marion served by two airlines? What I was saying is that Regions goes into Saint Louis and Trans States goes up to Chicago from Saint Louis. Maybe Marion has a case for direct travel up to Chicago because to head over to STL and up to ORD is a minimum of 6 hours travel time with layovers and connections. It's an all day affair just to get up to Chicago when you can drive it in 5.5 -6.0 hrs.

i read the article but it had no mention of colgan. It did say that great lakes was no longer in the running. I'd hate to be that colgan crew, based in IL with the nearest MX base in CRW or ALB!

D'oh!!!

Apologies, I read it that Mesa amd TSA flew out of there.

No T-props at O'Hare, and with Chicago Express gone, no T-props at MDW either. Definitely some opportunities there considering the EAS routes and the size of some of these airports. I'd be in hog heaven if Colgan ever moved into the area - commuting sucks!
