I tried to find it in a past post, but I thought I read that to upgrade at Colgan, you'd need 1000 hours as an SIC in the airplane first. Would somebody mind verifying that? I'd heard there were quick upgrades, but sounds like there are certain parameters that must be met beforehand.

Thanks.

Didn't they hire some street Captains at Colgan not too long ago?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the Beech is 2000 hrs total with 500 in type. Can't speak for the Saab.

Personally, if I were calling the shots at Colgan (and thank God I'm not), I would say a minimum of one year as an FO before upgrade. Most of our Beech FOs (Saab too) have come from the flight instructor ranks - I did - and should see a summer of thunder storms and, more importantly, a winter of deicing, braking action poor/15 knot x-wind/8 knot tailwind/runway plowed with a pickup truck conditions before acting as PIC.

Please excuse the run-on sentence. Beer.

The saab is 2000tt and between 500 and 1000 in type. It works out to be about a year in the right seat.
