congrats on the continental hookup!
i agree with the above that corpus is probably best of the bunch. its a booming city with some great beaches and cheap rent.

tyler and college station-both college towns w/cheap booze and eats

victoria- can remember driving 15 mins to find a gas station for dinner

Turbo,

I've have been to all repeatedly. Unfortunately, they are about as bad as it gets. Corpus being the best of bunch. A few are down-right depressing, San Angelo and Killeen come to mind. Aside from discounted hotel food and the occasional happy hour- there's nothing to get excited about.

Monroe- Mall by airport
Corpus- College town, tolerable on occasion
Waco- Crickets (literally)- a ton of them
San Angelo- Desert wasteland
Killeen- Can you say "La Quinta"; I've also got a story about a cockroach
Victoria- Stand up overnight
I must have blocked out the others from memory.

If you get the upgrade to do it- that's a different story.

Good Luck.

CRP is not a CO connection city. I think you meant Del Rio.

I'm pretty sure that SKYW served KCRP for a few months. Maybe I'm thinking of College Station (isn't that KCRP?).

College Station is CLL and the home of Texas A&M. Also, some of the world's best burritos are made at Freebirds on the edge of campus.

Corpus Christi is CRP and is a coastal city. The USS Lexington is there as a floating museum.

WOW. Looks like I'm a little rusty on Texas geography. Pretty pathetic considering I did initial jet training out of IAH into KCRP. I remember the oil refinery just off the end of the runway. It was KCLL that SKYW served for CO. Thanks.

My Dad was based in Del Rio when I was a kid (he was instructing in T38's at Laughlin). Even at 6 years old I knew it was a crap hole. Wonder if it's changed at all.

At the same time trumpeting how your survey job is so f****** hard to do that only 150 people in the whole U-S-of-A do it and pooh-poohing a Saab driver. You know, a Saab-driving idiot who wasn't smart enough to have the Oracle find him "an alternate path" and is contributing to "this downward spiral".

Well said I.P.!

Sticky-boy, you really need to get a clue. Why, in the first place, are you scanning through and commenting on these threads on regionals if you have nothing to say but negatives -- about Colgan, and about the industry in general? If you're so pumped about your 310 job I'd advise the 'General' section. You rag on a group of pilots who are trying (because they opted for the 121 life) to make a living and further their career -- of course you're going to get sh!t!

The industry is as it is not because of the fault of anyone on this board (unless there's legacy mgmnt. on here), we just try to deal with it the best we can. I spent 4+ years w/ Colgan and can say they helped me move on to one of the better 121 jobs available right now.

Just an aside, for all the Colgan folks (Sticky, you wouldn't understand), did the the Expressway Visual RWY 31 in LGA today from the right seat of the 717 -- what a trip! Hope you all can see what I mean soon, in that or any large jet! Congrats on the CO contract!
