Hey could anyone who flies for colgan, please explain the flight benefits for friends and family; do they include buddy passes and family passes for use on US Air, and United, or just "Colgan" flights... Thanks

ahhhhhhhhhhhh nope can't do that. Can't talk about family business. Once we jump you in then we can let you know.

it's like when I was there, you interviewed and were hired at the company and even started IOE before they even told you if you were going to be in the Beech or the Saab.

Flight Benefits

Hey there--

To answer your question, or attempt to answer it, the benefits are different for friends and family. Your mom and dad, and wife/husband or "domestic partner" if you play for that team are the only ones that really luck out. They get a log in to the US Air website and can list themselves for flights. It used to be free for them. I think since the integration of Am West and US Airways its like 15 bucks per segment (plus int'l taxes if going abroad. not too bad. They get unlimited travel. To help friends out, you get 8 companion passes on US Airways, and 8 buddy passes on COLGAN flights. The 8 passes on US Airways are at a cost (ex- my buddy went round trip lga-dca for 65 bucks) but still very reasonalble, flying standby of course. You can send friends to FLL, LAX or even Rome if they are brave enough. The 8 buddy passes on COLGAN flights for your friends are FREE. But, we dont exactly do NYC-Nassau Bahamas flights like the super cool jet pilots. Benefits for United? HAH. According to them we dont do enough flying for them to get benefits. Thats as far as I know, it might be changing. No buddy passes on united for friends/family, and I was nervous to jumpseat on my own airline out of IAD the other day, worked out though. Phew. Hope that answered your questions.
Happy vapor trails dude.

What a tool. If you didn't know what you were hired into by the time you got to indoc, the sim that you were in would have been a clue or maybe when you showed up for IOE, the type of airplane may have given it away. You must be one of those riddle guys that went to gulf$tream........

Sorry - slip of the tongue - I meant Indoc, not IOE.

But still, Indoc was all based on "if you get the Saab, then this . . . " and "if you get the Beech, then this . . . ."

And I'm not a Gulfstream guy, but if I did manange to get to IOE and not know my plane, then maybe we could talk. :)
j/k guys

We've had United pass priveledges since May. Instead of paying for the passes up front, United charges Colgan who then payroll deducts it from your check. You must have missed the policy form Ilah sent out when she was still here, but I understand what you mean by not wanting to commute out of IAD on Colgan. I try to go through ABE or DCA before IAD.
