Why do some aircraft have cold temp limits?
Example: My aircraft has a limitation of -25 degrees C, why?

oil for turbocharger?

obviously if its not warmed to a certain level it will not work as desired

That depends on the aircraft and the particular limitations. Typical reasons are oil viscosities, fuel gelling or ice crystal formation, and seal or rubber limitations. Additional limitations may also apply for aircraft not equipped for cold weather operations, such as lacking a winter kit, etc.

I figured it was fuel or oil related. I also thought maybe it was electronic problems.

One of the Helo's I fly is allowed to operate down to -35 C.

The other is -25 C. This one is a full FADEC helicopter so I thought that might have something to do with it.

Both are Turbines.

Thanks for the input
