Is there any work going on to restore the availability of the cockpit jumpseats to pilots of other carriers? ALPA talks a great deal about being the "forerunner to reclaim the jumpseat", although I haven't seen any results. I'm not a commuter, but recently stood idle and watched 5 packed SWA flights pushback out of LAS to PHX with empty jumpseats. Ended up having to take AA to SJC and Eagle to PHX... talk about "out of the way".

Also, anyone know what's going on with the cargo carriers and jumpseats?

Hopefully this will all get worked out soon.
