Just wanted to say best of luck on getting into OCS. My fiance applied for the Jan class and was an alternate and then again for the class starting in June. Its a tough go. You can get guaranteed though the Blue 21 or CSPI programs. There is a board called www.coastguardocs.org that might be able to help you out...several CG pilots on there now.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice.
I had my OCS interview a couple weeks ago, and I'd say it was a good experience overall.. and now I am just at the first part of the waiting game.. In the mean time, I'm getting ready for my IFR checkride, and then seeing what my next step should be in civilian training (I don't want to postpone my Comm. and ME training.)

Ladies and Gents, I can say that if you are physically qualified and mentally able/pass the test that you will go to flight school. It may not be right out of OCS but I know a bunch of people who were picked up after their first tour out of OCS. The CG Academy types all have to wait to go till after their first boat tour. I would like to stress that in your interview you need to convey how much you want to be a CG Officer, not CG Pilot. The board may typically have only one pilot on it, if any. Let me reassure you that it is worth the wait. I can't believe I get paid to do this. Good luck and drop me an e-mail if you have any other questions.
