When jump seating on CAL, do you get charged for listing yourself even if you don't check in? Thanks in advance.

If you're jumpseating, there isn't a charge anyway.

If you're non-reving, then no, you don't get charged unless you actually board the flight. I've made many a listing ahead of time, just as a contingency; no charges for those.

You will not get charged, in fact this happens a lot. At some more popular commuting cities it is a courtesy to other pilot jumpseaters to advise them that you will be going on that flight and others can plan accordingly if they are junior to you.

When you get your pink slip for jumpseating, make sure that the gate agent doesn't check you in, has happened before. You don't know for a couple of months when the payroll dedution is on your pay check
