Talking in a nonsensical rambling manner and not observing basic safety rules sounds like half the pilots I have flown with at my present airline. (Airline line name withheld for marketing and strategic financial reasons.......but its' airplanes have a large gold globe on the tail.)

Didn't Air Canada have a very similar incident a year or so ago that also diverted into Shannon?

Same incident. This took place in January 2008 and it appears that the report has finally come out as to what transpired.
