Unfortunately, you will have to deal with people like "dh" for the rest of your career. Perhaps not to the same degree as this clown but they are out there. On the other hand, he is doing you a favor right now. Learning how to deal with these types will prepare you for the subsequent weenies you will inevitably be paired with in the future. Learning how to "handle" people is just part of the job.

The best advice I can give you is to be as professional as you can possibly be at all times while on the job. Don't socialize with this person or even talk to him unless it has to do with the job. This removes the opportunity for him to say "black" when you say "white." If he asks why you don't talk to him anymore, tell him the truth. I'd say something like, "its nothing pesonal but you have an adversarial, abrasive personality and I find it unpleasant working with you." He will surely jump on the defensive but its very difficult to defend against the truth. Keep emotion out of the equation and again, be professional.
