Do you make the same tough talk posts on the ALPA boards? My guess is your a flamer, if not just remember its a small community and what comes around goes around.

My girlfriend asked if I was going to pick up open time during vacation to make some extra cash. I said of course not and had to explain to her why.

Why because I dont agree with you? Is that how it is now just because I think being a hardliner is senseless in todays world? Sorry you and your union thugs can pound your chests all you want however we still have the right to save our jobs and pick up open time when we feel like it. Don't like it then try and change the cba.

After its voted down D'angelo call me I'll help you polish up the old resume.

And as far as ALPA goes. I hate ALPA, but currently they are the only thing thats keeping us at our current payrate. ALPA national has made choices that are destroying mine and your ability to make a decent wage for our work.

As far as picking up EF.... Would you sell your mom if you could get $5 per trick?

Hey im picking up open time for two reasons. One to stockpile some cash so me and the lady can go on a nice vacation. Two I want to time out so I can enjoy the last couple weeks of the year off. My senority may or may not hold it but if I time out i sure can! That way I can be sipping my tropical drinks over the new year instead of workin

Just so I get this straight...

1. You hate ALPA.
2. ALPA is the only thing keeping your current pay rate.
3. ALPA is destroying your ability to make a decent wage.

?????

D'Angelo is an obvious flamer, look at his posts. He's probably sitting in his mother's basement laughing every time someone replies. If he's serious, he's just a sad individual. Quit replying and he will go away.

1=ALPA National YES
2=local ALPA working to keep us our paychecks
3=ALPA National not standing up as a group and saying enough is enough!

If as a union we are not willing to standup as a group (all pilots not matter what you fly) we are doomed!

Well last time I checked my friend I have the right to a harrassment free work environment. You can take all your union thug talk and go pound sand. I will continue to pick up open time and I will continue to enjoy the premo pay. I will also be voting YES for the concessions. I will be able to make up my loss of pay with open time. have a nice day

If, by any means, you think that surplus (of all people) is a union thug, you obviously don't read these boards too often...He is not a big supporter of alpa, or is it that he just hates mainline pilots....I can't figure it out!

I'll try to help you. No, surplus1 doesn't hate mainline pilots or any other pilot. He does dislike pilots, mainline or otherwise, that are selfish to the point of harming others or arrogant with a superiority attitude, i.e., too full of themselves.

Surplus1's peers and friends, with only a few exceptions, are all "mainline" pilots both active and retired. Those once at your company are all among the 2300 or so that left and I miss them. They date from the time when most Delta pilots were gentlemen, in contrast to the current time when few mainline pilots, at Delta or elsewhere, can even identify with that term. It is foreign to them.

My guess is that most if not all of them, including those still active, predate your tenure as an airline pilot by a very long time. It's a different era and I miss both the self-respect and respect for each other that was once a part of this profession. Your generation seems to have brought with it nothing more than your flying skills. Surplus1 thinks that's a sad state of affairs. Mr. d'Angelo, whoever he is, is reflective of that "new breed"; usless in my book.

You're right, surplus1 is not a union thug. He once was a big supporter of ALPA and still supports the concept of a union, but he does not support ALPA's current administration and its policies; and that goes way beyond the office of the president. He thinks that ALPA's policies are as much responsible for the current debacles as is management for those policies have provided management with the means to take us back 20 years plus. He would like to see ALPA on the way back to its former self and would prefer it to be more of a labor union rather than the pointless "federation" of pilots-against-pilots that it now is and has been for well over a decade.

Hopefully that gives you some insight.

Translation= If it doesn't help me, I don't care, I'm miserable, thus I want everyone to be miserable!

I bet that list of friends is as small as your brain size! Probably in the single digits! Foreign, that's a country where you ought to go. People like you only care about one person. THEMSELVES!

Well Mr. "old pilot," You don't know anything about me or my background. Your "ASSumption," is just that, making an ass out of you!
Your generation, you know, the "I've got mine" attitude shines through and through. You are a tired old miserable man, who has not made anything out of his career and is either "close to" or retired already! You sit around bitching all day about what "might have been."

You're right, surplus1 is not a union thug. He once was a big supporter of ALPA and still supports the concept of a union, but he does not support ALPA's current administration and its policies; and that goes way beyond the office of the president. You forgot to mention the part where Comair was the best airline, and that it was all the mainline pilots' fault of the condition of you beloved airline!
