I fly regularly into CLT and it seems the worst delays happen on a clear day/night (7-11pm) with absolutely no weather anywhere in sight!
Last night we left the ATL area for CLT. Immediately checking in with ATL CNTR we are told to slow down to our slowest practical speed. Shortly after we are told to hold. I know the NE area has been dealing with some weather recently, but it happens on days when most of the Eastern seaboard has little or no weather.
Do the Airlines increase their arrivals and departures and arrivals on fairweahter days or is it that they cancel flights ahead of time when day expect weather?
How much input does the CLT facility have on this flow or is this the work of the CNTR facilities?
Can anybody provide some insight please?
Thank you,
