I heard somewhere that at NJA the policy is not to close the cockpit curtain/door? is this true, and if so can anyone tell me what the reasoning behind this would be. Do other Fracs have the same policy?
My experience is about 95% of the NJA pilots don't close the curtain. I have probably had 3 or 4 who did, not counting those who, during a night flight, said they would close the curtain before landing.
I close it at night to cut down on the light. I close it when flying west to keep the sun out of the owners face. I close it when the owners/card holders have been rude to me or my fellow crew members. I close it when I eat my crew meal. I close it when I'm tired of spending 14 hours of my life under the prying/judging eyes of laymen.
There's nothing in print that says a crew cannot close the curtain.
