My son is 13 and wants to start pilot training. He is deaf but hears close to normal using bilateral cochlear implants. A quick call to the FAA reveals he can obtain a 3rd class medical with a SODA. I am trying to get in contact with anybody who knows of pilots that wear cochlear implants to see what may be possible for him in the industry. (class 1?)

Anybody know of pilots with CI?
