"Class C airport"

I guess it depends on how anal you want to get. "Class C" refers to airspace, not an airport. The airport for which Class C airspace was built is the "primary airport". Other airports within the Class C are called "satellite" airports.

So, if you want to get really technical and say that this means that there is no such thing as a "Class C airport" go ahead. But that means there is no such thing as a "Class D" airport either. Look at 91.129 (Class D) and 91.130 (Class C) and the way the airports within the airspace are described. Exactly the same.

In shorthand, most people refer to the primary as a "Class X airport" or a "Class X primary airport" instead of "the primary airport within Class X airspace"
