I was reading a gauge and it said I should know the speed limit for Class B Airspace when above 10,000 feet. I've done some research and here's what I know:

The AIM says that Class B goes from the surface to 10,000 MSL. Therefore, how could it matter?

Class B Speed Limit = 250 or minimum manuevering speed.

Below Class B = 200 or min. manuev.

So does Denver go above 10,000MSL? If not, lets say it goes from the surface to 12,000 feet. Is there any speed limit above 10,000 while in DEN class B? Is the speed limit no supersonic?

Thanks in advance.

The dimensions of every class B airspace are different. If it extends above 10,000 there is no speed limit.

Atlanta and Denver are both above 10000. When at or above 10000 the speed limit is Vmo, Mmo, or <Mach 1, whichever is less.

the way the regs read, class B has no special speed restriction. So above 10 no restriction

There are no speed restrictions in Class B airspace. There is a restriction below 10,000ft, but when the Class B happens to be above 10k, there is no speed limit(unless imposed by ATC or a DP/Arrival).

ACtually there is a speed limit in Class B

It is just a little difficult to understand the reg...go figure huh? refer to FAR 91.117 (b) It will indicate that operations within class B airspace shall comply with paragraph (a). And by that paragraph above 10,000 within class B there is no restriction.

I guess it is to easy to be an a$$ about it though... the questions been answered 3 times already.

By definition Class B does NOT have an speed limit, the FAR only says max speed below 10,000' MSL 250KIAS, so if Class B extends higher than that you are free to throw in the coals...

Gosh, if I see another question about the speed limit in class B below 10,000 ft, I am going to lose my mind!!!!!!
