Class B question

I will be departing out of MIA on Monday, first time In/Out of a class B airport.

I know I have to get a clearance into B to enter the airspace. However, do I need a Class B clearance to depart the airport (yes it is a VFR flight)?-

Yes, you will need a clearance to depart into Class B airspace. You will obtain this from clearance delivery if you are departing fromthe primary airport, or from the tower of the field you are departingif it is not the primary airport.

Technically yes you do. Before you start up call clearance delivery freq and give them the atis code then tell them you are a vfr departure, what is your destination, and what is your requested cruise altitude. They will give you a transponder code and possibly an altitude (lower than cruise) to start out at. This will allow you to depart vfr.

Your takeoff clearance constitutes clearance into the Class B. You will probably be given initial heading and altitude to fly until you are out of it. The only time you would have to get a Class B clearance before takeoff is at airports that are Class D or E, with a Class B veil low enough overhead that you can't avoid going into it.
I can't think of any such airports. Most are either B at the surface, or they give you enough Class E altitude to depart on your own.
