Just curious if anyone has any experience( good or bad) with these headsets. Looking at the TSO'd version. Thanks in advance!

I was in the market for a headset and looked at them but not in too great detail. I ended up buying a Lightspeed Mach 1 and loved it! I wish I could use it in my present job but the DC-10's have a specific headset configuration and the microphone feature won't work. I suppose there's a way to adapt it but most of the time we shed our headsets above FL180 anyway. We use Plantronics MS50s so I just ordered a custom fit earpiece for it from Avery Sound.
I see that the Aloft has a music input. The Mach 1 does as well. It will allow you to connect either a music device or a cell phone with the appropriate adaptor. I don't know whether the Aloft offers this feature...when you're listening to your music and either the radio or intercom cuts in, the music is muted almost completely and then comes back to full volume. I also see the the Mach 1 is less expensive whether you go with the custom earpeices or not. Just my $0.02...

Nice and light in ur flight bag, takes up almost no room. Can get very uncomfortable unless you bend the frame exactly to ur head. I find myself adjusting the position of the mike several times a leg, which is very annoying but, i got it for free. Overall small, light compact, blocks out just about as much noise as my bose X, but can get very annoying at times with the frame and mike.

thanks for all the replies.... i suppose i could try it for a roatation or two and see how it goes. i believe you can get custom ear molds for the clarity as well?

Is there a sticker/engravement on the pro (tso) headset or it just comes with paperwork showing it is tso'd Thanks

It's a great headset once you get it formed correctly. Very light and comfortable. Like a previous poster said it's just as quiet as a Bose X. The MP3 input is great. There aren't custom ear molds for them that I have ever heard of. The ear piece that they come with are very comfortable though. The TSO number is stamped on the volume module. Hope that helps.
