Start sending them your resume now and keep updating it untill they call. You never know they may call you at 900,1000,1100?

You guys never learn, it has nothing to do in regionals what sex you are!

There is very few women in aviation and those whom are in it, they happend to be way better pilots than average man. Most of them have better education than majority of guys and most of them are smarter than guys!

Guys who still at 2004 thinks that they dont get job because of women. You guys have low selfconfident and I hope you dont get job either.

If you are so scared about women in aviation, maybe you should work in nursing home or something, which has majority of females working there!

Wish people would rather talk about non qualified college intern pilots , who are really the ones who screws us! Or you guys, I could not care less!

Time for a tampon change..yikes!

BS about women having an advantage!

I've been sending CHQ aps for almost a year now and havd gotten NO repsonse from them or any other regional!

2400TT
500ME
25 turbojet
ATP
4 yr. degree
1st class med
radio op permit
CFI/CFII/MEI
no accidents/incidents and a squeaky clean driving record

You tell me why I haven't gotten a call.

I have recently removed my first name from my resume and replaced it with my first initial. We'll see what happens.

Sure lots of women are flying for the regionals and corporate. There's also an alarming number of qualified ones who are watching guys with 1200 and 100 get calls while they sit home.
I know of at least 5 others in my area with similar stories.

just a question, if your plan is to remove your first name from your resume, IF They do call, who are they going ask for?

Is "L" there?
How bout miss mister Jones

no but get a load of this one:
Women in Aviation

ExpressJet was one of seven regional carriers recruiting new hire pilots at the 2004 Women in Aviation Conference held in Reno, Nevada last week. Nearly 3,000 attended the two-day aviation conference, including Vice President of Human Resources, Karen Miles, Express pilots FO Kima Nalis and Captain Micky Philpott, Pilot recruiter Dawn Daniel and staffing Manager, Angela Barron. ExpressJet was pleased to award 2 EMB 145 type rating scholarships. Winners were selected by a team of ExpressJet Airlines pilots, management and the training department. The winners were Pamela Vela from Houston, Texas and Heather Agherbi from Scottsdale, Arizona. We would like to send a special thank you to all of the coordinators for our booth and to the ladies that represented our company.

To respond to one poster's question: " if your plan is to remove your first name from your resume, IF They do call, who are they going ask for?"

I have a friend who goes by "H.D." ...that is what he is called. Likewise I have a friend who is called "G". I also know a B.J, an H.J, and an H.B. This is the name they go by. I have flow with many students who have one initial for a first name. "J" for example. the awkwardness depends upon the letter(s) you use. So they just say, "Hello may I speak to J. Smith please?"

Now onto the second point:
Wow. The ruffled feathers on this board towards the subject of women in the traditionally male club of aviation is interesting to say the least. I am always amused at how riled up guys get about the idea of airlines and manufacturers awarding type rating scholarships and job interviews at the Women in Aviation Conference. I have applied for these scholarships every year for the past 4 years and never won. Maybe it's because I am competing with 700 applicants, which is this year's tally. The winners deserve them, because the package you have to put together to even apply is impressive in itself.

Are you guys upset that you all didn't get together and form an organization that helps you network and advance your career? Why don't you start something instead of lobbing silly jabs at WIA for the initiative they've taken. Fact is, women are a minority in aviation. We look to others who have suceeded as role models and mentors for our own careers.

Women do not want special treatment, and I for one hope I never find out I was hired for any reason other than my flying ability and professionalism.

Actually we did, its meet's nightly at the hotel bar, and we encourage all genders to attend.

What BS! Did you go to Riddle!?!

The worst female pilots are those who carry chips on their shoulders and act better then men because of some sort of phantom 'superior education.' These are the female pilots that while flying into ROA at night, declare that a Go-Around is not an option. Read up on that incident at Mesa if you are not familiar.

Thankfully most are not like this and therefore do not consider themselves superior to their peers. Instead they realize its just a job and they show up and do it as well as their male contemparies. It's too bad idiots like you only help further the stereotypes that some retarded guys hold. Keep sexual stereotypes out of the flight deck both ways!

No offense, I agree completely, but I find it difficult to really "listen" to what you have to say, I mean lets be honest, your current position IS "Dirty Sanchez.":D

MR. Idiot who replyed to my post here!

I happend to be man, flew in airforce, now flying for corporate in North-East! Avoiding regional since can't live in this area with money what you guys get paid at regionals.

So you really think that if few of the female pilots have done something what you dont tolerate , that makes all of them bad pilots and us guys better. You guys have so bad selfconfident !

I have to be lucky to not be in cockpit with you!

Seems like your ego is way too big in that little aircraft of yours!

Seems like you and most of the other pilots who used to be freight trash or other prop. pilots, when they get in to their first JET with +1500 hours or what ever you have , ego seems growing faster than your skills!

This is the same guy who said :

You talk about so much yet you seem to know so little. No wait, thats your concept of grammar and the English language.

If "non qualified college intern pilots" keep self-proclaimed former military drivers with attitudes like yours out of the cockpit, then I'd say its probably because of their superior attitude and equal piloting ability. I don't see that as a problem at all.

Because we all know that "freight trash" and "other prop. pilots" aren't real pilots...after all, they don't fly a JET.

But I digress....sorry Baron.

Ah that would be me, but guess you have trouble reading a screen name. I bet most female pilots wish you were not on what you believe to be 'their side.' I'm glad you don't want me in the cockpit with you, because I prefer to fly with people who have basic reading comprehension skills.

Re-read my post and show me please where I said that all female pilots are bad and guys are better. Please provide a specific quote please, because I'm still looking for my female bashing. Seems to me I was trying to impress upon you the fact that gender is irrelevant in what makes one a 'superior pilot.' By the way, how exactly does one get 'so bad selfconfident'? Is that some new ebonics phrase I haven't heard yet.

Funny how someone who calls the hardest working pilots out there 'freight trash' can lecture anyone about having an ego, especially when he/she is ex-AF. Do us all a favor and stay away from the airlines all together. You're the type of ex-military rod who goes up to the Check Airmen on the first day of IOE and introduces himself including his rank before the first and last name.

BTW, as far as airplane size goes, if you fly corporate odds are that mine's bigger then yours!
