A CL-215 scooper crashed in a house while working a fire in Italy, they hit power lines, and apparently was on fire from that. Reportedly the last words were :

”We die, there is nothing else we can do… we are heading out to sea”.

Rather sobering, especially for those of us in the aerial firefighting community.

Godspeed....

”We die, there is nothing else we can do… we are heading out to sea”.
There's something about this that is kinda' cool ... in a brave sorta' way. I mean ... based on CVR transcripts, most guys are screaming an explicative on the way in, if they know, in fact, that they're heading in.

So I just thought this was kinda' smooth. :)

Funny, I read the oppsite, it was in an aviation quote, where one of the guys who regularly reviews the tapes, says that often the last words are "oh $hit" said with no emotion in their voice at all.
