It is getting to be that time of year again with the winter ops. I wanted to get some tips some do's and donts as far as operating the CJ in winter Ops. I have been flying the airplane for the past few months and I love it CJ1. But with the winter coming just wanted to start talking about it, and getting a better handle on it.

Thanks in Advance

Can't really think of anything major just:

1. Be sure you are reading the right Takeoff Field Length chart (Flap 15/ice on) or (Flaps up/ ice on).

2. Don't use tail de-ice boots below -35C.

3. Operate the engines at or above 80% N2.

4. The Before Takeoff check list does a pretty good job with the de-ice and anti-ice equip.

I can't really think of anything else operationally, but if I do I will let you know.

Let me add to that list.

Be sure to do the full anti-ice de-ice check on the ground.

Follow the hold over times.

Use the windshield bleeds before you start to ice up.

The AFM in the CJ3 doesn't do the best job discussing de-ice procedure so you might want to look at it and work up something that works for you.

If N2 drops below 70%, the wing antiice lights come on.
You have to turn on the w/s bleed manual valve AND the blower to get anything.
