what I hear, the upgrade time is better at CS and you get a hell
of a lot more domiciles to choose from. Don't get me wrong , I will take

time getting back to applicants and I think CS has more to offer because
of quicker upgrades and more domiciles. I don't want to start a war between
who is better but personally, I am praying I get CS.


Two weeks after your first full year, and say you are hired before the vaction year starts/ends, you will get prorated portion of that. I get 3 weeks after 5 years.

Do whatever makes you happy doesn't matter to me. I think NJA is slow getting back to people because they over hired and can't get everyone trained. Good luck at CS...
 
RNO , thanks, I hope I get it. I heard training facilities are so
backed up w/ NJA that they are sending pilots to Europe.

They need to send me to Europe. I haven't heard that, but won't be suprised.

1 week (7 days) vacation years 1-4, 2 weeks after that. The 7 days must be taken in one block which would be your normal work week. So you would have 7-off,7-vacation,7-off. Essentially you end up being off 21 days.

I don't think the color of the suit matters. Just go in and be yourself.

Maybe they changed the language, but when I quit last year the employee guide read that employees having completed 5 years of service are eligible for the two weeks of vacation. Which sounds like you don't get it until your sixth year. Since everyone hired before Sept of 2001 was grandfathered into the old program of two weeks anyway, there’s no one that’s actually gotten the two weeks under this change yet. AFAIK

Come on over to the freighters and you get 14 to 16 off in a row every month!! At vacation time if you are creative in the bidding process you can score 30 to 40 days off in a row!..........

Of course there is the down side of 16 days straight on the road every month!:D
 
At Flight Options you get 16 days of "Paid Time Off" each year (it adds up at 1 and a third day each month). You don't get sick days, PTO is used for both that and vacation. Once you have over thirty days in the bank you need to use or lose by the end of the year to get it under thirty. You can take either blocks of 4 or 8 days. If you take half a tour off it has to be the first or last half of an 8 day rotation, not the middle. So if you take 4 days you'll get an 11 day break, if you take the full tour you get 22 days in a row off. I think it goes up to 24 days a year after your fifth year, but I'm not sure about that one.

Never, ever take a flying job based on when you think you'll upgrade... NEVER...EVER!
 
wolfpackpilot, Life's a gamble and baby needs a new pair of shoes....
At my current job, i'd be doing myself more harm if i stayed.
