Circadian lows and scheduling pilots around them by fight hours to include duty day and rest requirements.... How can we improve safety and reliability?

What he said. They say fatigue is cumulative. Working a tiresome schedule is the nature of the job, however working tiresome schedules 4 days or 6 days on with little rest in between is a recipe for ASA.

We get as little as 8 hrs notice for a 5am show time. Then two dYs later we are working till midnight. Then back to 5am again. This crap has to end. It seems to be the norm lately.

Thanks for all the info and perspectives, Please keep them coming. I am compiling a questionnaire and suggestions for a paper I am writing. I will have a questionnaire ready in a few days, pm me if interested in participating.

Thanks in advance

I've had several assignments in the last few months (one yesterday, actually) that, although were legal, had me swap from day to night ops and then back to day ops in less than 36 hours.
