can anyone tell me if the SK at the end of chq's tail number represents anything. Other than sierra kilo. thanks

SkyWest has the SK on the tails now because there are no more SW registrations available. Southwest and SkyWest do have most of them.

Ill see what i can find out... I know they are on the old TWE birds... Most of them now reside on the USAirways side. Hovereve their are a few DL and UA birds with em. (dont know about the AA 140s)

Matt

SK stands for Solitair Kapital AB, which is a Swedish aircraft leasing firm. They were involved in CHQ's early E-145 purchases/leases. The tail numbers on the first 53 planes ended SK: 260-299SK, 370-382SK. These are spread across all four codeshares. The number has nothing to do with the codeshare, as some planes are currently in their fourth coat of paint. for example N269SK was TWE/AWE/DLC now UEX. The newer planes have tail numbers ending in RP (CHQ's 2 letter carrier code) RW (the 170's, a big block was avialable) and (JQ who knows why, this was planned for U growth and 60 reserved, only 3 used). Hope this clears it up..

SHIITY KITTY

Haven't you guys ever heard the "meows" over the freq?

The SK tail numbers come from SOLITAIR KAPITAL.

Now follow the paper trail!

Chautauqua financed aircraft from Solitair Corp in July 1999.

Solitair Corp is a wholly-owned subsidary of Solitair Kapital AB.

Solitair Kapital AB is controlled by Solitair Intressenter AB, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wexford Solitair Corp.

Wexford Solitair Corp is an affiliate of WexAir LLC

WexAir LLC is the majority stockholder of Republic Airways Holdings.

So its just a LLC (Limited Liability Corp) making sure they are really are limited in their liability!

Yep. That's why almost nobody "owns" their own airplanes. It helps spread the lawsuits around when somebody rolls one into a ball.

No it's a way to hide money from stock holders.
