In a number of forums, I posted a questionnaire concerning Chautauqua, Republic, and Jets-for-Jobs. Here's a summary of the replies, both posted on the forums and submitted via e-mail:

1. All had high praise for the professionalism of those hired under the Jets-for-Jobs program.

2. Most, however, did not recommend Jets-for-Jobs to other pilot groups. Reasons included a belief that the purported benefits failed to materialize while others questioned the overall fairness of the programs.

There were also some differing opinions:

3. Some said UAL/Republic program was a Jets-for-Jobs program. Others said it was not a Jets-for-Jobs program.

4. Some said the DAL/Republic program would be Jets-for-Jobs. Others said it would not be a Jets-for-Jobs program.

The divergence in opinions raises an interesting question? What is Jets-for-Jobs? A common example is the USAirways Jets-for-Jobs program. But are the UAL/DAL programs not Jets-for-Jobs or simply different examples of Jets-for-Jobs?

While the USAir program is explicitly defined in the 2003 Chautauqua labor agreement, the UAL and DAL operations are not (at least not in the copies available on the web.) Therefore, to help resolve the apparent confusion, could someone post something "official" such as any new side-letters, memos, etc. that explain/clarify the newer UAL/DAL agreements?

Thanks
