One hired so far...

An ATP instructor from the 11/19 interview was offered a 12/2 class date today. The next available class according to Rosa is going to be in Jan. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

how do they draw out of the pool at CHQ?? is the first people who interview are the first to go??? or does it go from experience?

It is solely at ROSA'S discretion...

chq hiring based on age!

I'm 38 and did not get the job... anyone older than me get hired this last round (November). Just curious.

Sorry Tarheel, gotta call BS on this one. In my newhire class this spring our oldest guy was 45 and we had 7 older than 35. Sorry you didn't make it this time, try again in a year if CHQ is really what you want. BTW I really hope you didn't try telling anyone in your interview that "pitch is airspeed, power is altitude" junk... that doesn't work too well in the jet. (Unless, of course the power is fixed... but I digress.)

Thanks for your reply aewanabe

Hey no hard feelings on the non-offer from CHQ...I know I did well on everything during the process I'm just trying two and two together when a 1000 hour 21 yr old gets hired and me a 38 yr old 4yr CFI with 2100 hours is told to go take a hike. Venting over...

tarheel, dont forget i have 900hrs of turbine with flight safety training in specific type (maybe that means something to them?)....and its no longer 1000TT, ive crept up to 1200 now. yee haw!

;)

In the pool.

Got the letter last week. Anybody have any guesses on how long we'll be there? I'm guessing they must have interviewed 70 people in Nov. I'm guessing 1/2 or more of those will end up in the pool or lucky enough to get in the Dec. 2 class. Sounds like about 2 classes worth of bodies.

Any thoughts?

P.S. on the age discrimination issue...I'm doubtful 38 yrs. is considered old. I'll just say I'm in my 30's.

Think about the following items. For anybody considering Chautauqua, these are your priorities...

#1, internal walk-in
#2, internal letter of rec.
#3, neatness and completeness of paperwork & application.
#4, other letters of rec.
#5, preparing for the interview with aviationinterviews.com
#6, Getting time in a PCATD before the interview

Aren't you the same guy who was trying to stir the pot a while back about being dismissed during sim training at PSA? Maybe it's time to stop making excuses and start owning up to the real reason you didn't get hired...

Hey BE200 pilot,

just curious, how'd you get 3/4 of your 1200 TT in Turbine?

"Time to start playing the lotto"

fellas,

Badgers just trying to help, so that's cool, but careful about thinking much about that advice. I've had buddies walk it in/write recommendations three times the past 6 months, and so far, no avail. 19 months in the pool for me so far, and it's taught me that this company is more about having ya work for it, less on finding someway in the back door. You're gonna have to earn it, not find someway to sneak in. Wish I had better news.

relief tube,
a good friend of mine knew the owner of this company and got me the job. i am very fortunate to have gotten such a nice job with low time and have been thankful for every single hour.

you have been in the CHQ pool for 19 months??? i dont understand your last post about "having to work for it" i thought the pool letter that i got from CHQ meant that i was in line for the next class. i know they have been having new hire classes once a month for a little while. whats the deal???

ok relief tube, your previous posts are flame bait
you are probably thinking of the resume pool or soemthing, not the hiring pool. you actually have to interview with CHQ in order to get a "your in the pool" letter. if you were in the hiring pool they would have called you for a class date before they put any other guys into a class.
19 months??? they have put hundreds of newhires through class since then!

what the heck is flame bait? I've never used this message board to bicker back and forth with someone (until now), so Im new to terms like flame bait. I rationally told you what was going on and you tell me that Im completely wrong because you know everything that's going on with the company.

Why does anyone argue with you, because you already know everything, including every single move the hiring folks make.

You said "if you were in the hiring pool they would have called you for a class date before they put any other guys into a class.
19 months??? they have put hundreds of newhires through class since then!"

That's funny, I've got a half dozen friends in the same boat as me that'll love hearing that. Do your homework on it, you'll see. I wish those in hiring thought the same way as you, but that's not the case.

And if you want to call me out on something, that's cool, but save it for a personal message. If ya have any questions, send a me a message. The hardworking fellas that use this board for more
useful purposes don't need that crap.

Take it easy.

TO Tarheel

You probably didn't get the job because you are a Tar-Hole!!!

Just kidding; I hope you get another chance with CHQ, I have worked for them for about a year now and love it. I know there was a 47 year old F/I in my class if that matters... But most older guys can't deal with 1st year f/o pay.

Good luck with your endeavors, but seriously; GET A NEW TEAM!!!
