Does anyone have any information on Chautauqua's Indoc and ERJ-145 Training (Study Guides or Gouges). I have a class date coming up and would like to get a head start.

why does everybody want a head start? show up ready to learn. while you are there, study. everythign is give to you the first day. the training is as good as any airline, if you didn't eat paste in kindergarten you will do fine. instead of getting all stressed and getting a head start, enjoy your last few days of not being in indoc/systems and see your friends and have a few drinks. honestly, it is a better idea to show up relaxed than it is with a head start.

Considering your profile shows that you've already flown the E145, you have nothing to worry about. No really, just like the guy above said.

Get prepared by studying the Houston Bush Intercontinental Aiport taxi diagram to assist your captain with the taxi instructions....WW-WF-WA-15R..blah... blah ..blah...NG-NB-SF-SC to 09.....Good Luck in training!

Stinker,

Ex-Waterskier Current Jetlinker Soon to be trashman!

Sorry to be disagreable with some of you but there's nothing wrong with getting a head start. Sorry I don't have any specific info for you since I don't work there but certainly a generic review of 121 and lots of instrument practice will have you in good shape to start anywhere. The more you know going in the easier training will be and it will elevate what you get out of the class.

Get ready for, intimidate the crap out of you, sim instructors....a buddy of mine had to bail because the sim instructors...two of them....would constantly yell at him in the sim to the point of being unable to answer his name correctly. A real shame because he is a hell of a pilot and even better human being....I believe these instructors should be taken out back and bitch slapped to the unemployment line...Sorry if this sounds harsh but just standing of for a hell of a guy and a great friend...good luck.

horribly unfortunate that it took this many responses to give our friend a straight answer...dude heres your best bet if you wanna get a head start....start looking at Crew rest and duty requirments, some of the excemptions (3585)....and 121 alternate stuff...realize that some of this is Chautauqua specific so youll get the fine points when you get your General Operations Manual......other than that....i wish i could say it was a breeze but its not....open up wide and get ready to drink!
PS if you study and dont mess around too much at night youll be fine...cya on the line!!!

If this ever happens to anyone, grab a RAH checkairman and tell us. It will get fixed.

DOn't pre study...a few people in my class got a hold of some 145 systems stuff and knew it really well, but lots of it wasn't exactly correct. They had a much harder time unlearning and relearning stuff.

Two people in my class got a new instructor after the same type of crap, they refused to do one more lesson until they got someone new...and they did. Also we don't have our own instructors, we use flight saftey instructors...in STL most instructors are ex TWA and know their stuff. I'm sorry to here about your friend but he should have said something.
