United Airlines Announces That Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America Have Joined United Express
Monday March 8, 12:25 pm ET

CHICAGO, March 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United Airlines (OTC Bulletin Board: UALAQ - News) today announced that Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America have joined United Express. Under a new agreement, United has authorized Republic to fly sixteen seventy-seat regional jets under the United Express livery. Chautauqua will operate sixteen fifty- seat regional jets for United Express and Shuttle America will fly ten Saab 340 turbo prop aircraft.
"These agreements will help us continue to meet the demands of our customers with competitive fares and a full schedule of flights to large and small communities across the country - and the world," said Doug Hacker, executive vice president - Strategy. "We are pleased to add these partners that are committed to providing outstanding customer service to the United Express family."

The thirty-two regional jets and ten turbo props described in the agreements will serve United's Washington Dulles and Chicago O'Hare hubs as well as a number of other smaller markets throughout the country. The agreements with Chautauqua and Republic expire in 2014, while the contract with Shuttle America runs through 2005 and includes a renewal option. The companies will begin operating United Express flights later this year.

"United shares our goals of operational excellence and our strong dedication to customer service," said Bryan Bedford, chairman and chief executive officer of Republic Airways Holdings Inc. "We are excited to become a part of United's global network through our contribution to United Express, and we look forward to building a strong, long-term relationship with United."

Chautauqua is celebrating thirty years of service and was recently named 2004 Regional Airline of the Year by Air Transport World. The company has also been awarded the FAA's prestigious Diamond Award for excellence in maintenance and training for each of the past twelve years. Chautauqua and Republic Airlines are wholly owned subsidiaries of Republic Airways Holdings Inc., an airline holding company based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The holding company is owned by investment funds that are managed by Wexford Capital LLC. Wexford also owns Shuttle America.

Other United Express partners include Skywest Airlines, Trans States Airlines, Air Wisconsin Airlines, Atlantic Coast Airlines and Mesa Air Group.

Bye Bye--General Lee;) :rolleyes

Yes, you probably are, and you have too much time on your hands!:D

So new orders for CHQ:

16 E-170 for UAL
16 E-145 for UAL
13 E-145 for DAL
?? E-145 for U

thats at least 45 new aircraft so about 450 - more pilots

Can anyone back this up?

How many pilots does CHQ have now?

We had 841 as far as Feb 14, 2004.

But we also have a good 30+ going thru training right now with SEVERAL big classes on the way.

It's looking very promising.

The only way Republic gets (75) 170's is if MAA is not getting the full 85 that were ordered. DL & AMR still have scope restrictions, so unless Republic signs on with another partner, the final order may be 16.

We should know something shortly, as the UAL Express contract says they must be flying the 170's by the end of the year. They would have to order soon to receive those a/c.

Must be nice to get aircraft and not get rid of them. We lost 3 Dash 8's today with no replacements comming.

Wexford the new Mesa....hopefully the CHQ/SA Pilot groups won't lower the bar that's already at the industry's ankles...

But it's confirmed. Wexford was at IAD Last week looking for Office and future Hangar space.

What's this do to SA and Republic's deal with USAirways?

what republic agreement with USAirways?

Looks like CHQ is the flavor of the month again. Once you've been on this board for some you see a pattern. Last month it was Mesa then Coex now CHQ (again) then ASA will show up and the cycle continues something like this since 9/11/2001

Colgan
shuttle
Comair
Horizon
ALG/PDT (yes we got in there for a short time in 2002)
CHQ
ACA
Wiskey
Colgan
Shuttle
ACA
Clogan
CHQ
ASA
Wiskey
SkyWest
MESA
PDT
TSA
Wiskey
Eagle (the return)
Coex (the return)

And so it goes and goes, except you'll never see the return of ALG
