talked to a embraer rep today

Lowecur must be "dancing in the streets." (Wasn't that a Lionel Ritchie song? God, I am OLD)

Bye Bye--General Lee;)

And if so, hopefully they lose the Delta contract.

Being mean is so mean.

Actually that is why CHQ still has the Republic operating certificate. Delta (and all other codeshares) have approved of CHQ using whatever airplanes and flying for whomever as long as it is under the 2nd certificate. I know it sounds weird, but that is apparently the way it is going to work. That being said, all Republic planes will be flown by CHQ pilots.

As for the confirmed orders, I have no idea. Believe it when you see them on the jetway.

The way I understand the DAL scope, that plan won't work. It is my understanding that no codeshare partner, nor it's subsidiaries, are allowed to operate planes larger than 70 seats. Maybe the General can shed some light on this.

you answered your own question PCL. the EMb170 is a 70 seat aircraft. which is still within the scope.

with that said this rumor is compeltly false.

You are correct to an extent. Here's the language from section one, note the definition of a domestic air carrier comes from US code 49, not the FAA.

“Domestic air carrier” means an air carrier as defined in 49 U.S.C. Section 40102(a)(2).

If a domestic air carrier operates both permitted aircraft types and aircraft other than permitted aircraft types, the exemption for that domestic air carrier provided by Section 1 D. 1. will not apply unless:

a. the flying on aircraft other than permitted aircraft types is not performed for the Company within the meaning of Section 1 C., and

b. there is no reduction in the level of the Company’s then existing system scheduled aircraft block hours of flying as the result of the performance of such flying on other than a permitted aircraft type, and

c. the aircraft other than a permitted aircraft type, is either a jet aircraft configured with 70 or fewer passenger seats or a propeller driven aircraft configured with 72 or fewer passenger seats, and is operated on its own behalf or pursuant to agreement with an air carrier(s) other than the Company or an
affiliate.

The difference I see here is that if the aircraft is other than a "permitted aircraft type" as long as it is configured with less than 70 seats it's o.k. regardless of its maximum seat configuration.

Any one see a 170 in United colors with a RP tail number in FLL?

I heard there was one there the other day...

Announcement will be Monday I hear and Republic will be flying the aircraft.

United is rushing to backfill the ACA flying.

Anyone have any URL's to any photos of the 170s in the USA yet? I heard that US Airways ones should be arriving stateside anyday now.

So i woke up this morning and felt a little rumble in my stomach, so I went into the bathroom and sat down and sure enough, monkeys flew right outta my A$$.

Can't find the link to it, but in the snippet in the paper last week about the 170 being certified by the FAA, it mentioned that Embraer planned on delivering 11 EMB-170s in the next month. We'll find out soon enough where they're going.

They're going to the places that already have firm orders.

i.e US Airways, LOT Polish, Alitalia...etc.

Dont be looking for CHQ ERJ-170's to just show up.
