Makes me wonder how at 1600 hours some people think they have all the answers. Come on now, don't let back, tell us all with your vast wisdom and years in this industry how its gonna be. No offence, my sh1t doesn't smell like roses either, there was a time when I thought I had the game all laid out too. You'll learn.

For the second time in this thread you're 100% right.

Lear, do you really think I put my true time on this...lol you gotta be kiddin me.

My vast wisdom.....I would say that 15 yrs in the business I would have some wisdom young grasshopper.

So whats your take on the whole MD/CHq thing?

S5 F/O to CHQ F/O is a step backward huh? Wait until you get online with that attitude, you'll be really popular.

Didn't mean it like that. I feel we should be able to move around at some point. Maybe a 12 month seat lock wouldn't be a bad idea, if we could move between compaines.

Don't twist my words!

Hey if you don't like the pay you can always go back and flight instruct Whisker.....I know you probably made a ton of money there. By the way what company is paying you such great rates?? ATR/42/72 ERj145?? Sounds like you work for AirNatzies AE. Real great pay over there...........lol

Well your WRONG!! Not AE. And yes we DO pay more then CHQ on our 145 then they do on their 170 and 190. Pretty sad!

Well I guess we could all sit around talk about who has better pay scales like every other post on here or we could wait and see if anyone actually posts to being in the class on the 23rd, which if I'm not mistaken was the original subject of this thread.

Does anyone know any of the real information regarding the Mid Atlantic airplanes for Republic Airways Holdings? The only thing I know about it is RAH gets the airplanes after US Airways exits from bankruptcy. However I am sure there are a lot more caveats to the deal then that.

What I would like to know is what happens to those airplanes in the event of an Airways/AmWest merger.

And that my friend is the "BIG PICTURE"!

Am I the only one who's gotten to the point where I just roll my eyes when I read a post like this? And I don't mean on the basis of two misused words in the space of three "sentences"....

Upgrade

A pilot who upgrades to a smaller jet (32-59 seat) captain
position is not eligible to bid for transition to a larger jet (60+
seats) captain position for twenty-four (24) months
commencing on the effective date of the staffing award or
the completion of training, whichever is sooner.
The Company is not required to award a vacancy to a pilot if
the vacancy requires initial, upgrade or transition training
unless the awarded vacancy has a higher rate of pay.

New hire first officers shall be frozen in status and equipment type
until eligible to upgrade to a captain position.

Meaning F/O can upgrade to any CA position. EX: 170 F/O to 145 CA 24 months later to 170 CA

MidAtlantic

Prior to the effective date of US Airways' plan of reorganization, but no later than December 31, 2005, US Airways may exercise its option to obtain approximately $110 million through the sale and financing of certain assets including ten EMB-170 aircraft currently owned by US Airways and three EMB-170 aircraft currently committed for delivery to US Airways, other EMB-170 related assets and a sale/leaseback financing of 113 commuter slots at Washington Reagan National Airport and 24 commuter slots at New York LaGuardia Airport. In addition US Airways will assign to Republic the leases for an additional 15 EMB-170 aircraft. Republic would also work with US Airways to locate an Embraer heavy maintenance facility at an agreed upon location within the US Airways network. Republic would enter into a regional jet service agreement that would continue the operation of the EMB-170 aircraft as US Airways Express. At any time during the term of the slot sale/leaseback agreement, US Airways will have the right to repurchase the LaGuardia and Washington slots at a predetermined price after US Airways emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

After the effective date of US Airways' Chapter 11 plan of reorganization, in the event that US Airways has not exercised the slots sale/leaseback option, Republic will have an option to purchase/assume leases of all 28 EMB-170 aircraft and to fly them as US Airways Express.

In the event that US Airways draws down the equity commitment, Republic, at the request of US Airways, may purchase, finance and operate as US Airways Express an additional 22 Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft.

Just received a call from Rosa this afternoon. She told me that the May 23rd class date has been pushed back to May 31th and that instead of being Shuttle America, it will be a Republic Class for Delta. The first Delta class for CHQ.

Interesting....

I wonder who is going to staff the Shuttle America airplanes then. I would thinkmost of the current CHQ guys would prefer to go to the Republic certificate because of the uncertainty of the Shuttle/Chautauqua seniority list merger.

When do the APA fines kick in for the airplanes on the Chautauqua certificate? I would think (again) it is going to take some time to get all the current 170 crews trained by whichever certificate they those to go to. If Chautauqua is operating 18 (or whatever the number is) 170s for United, that is at least 80 crews that need to be trained in whatever time frame before the fines begin.

It doesn't make any difference. Republic/Chautauqua pilots are all on one list so it isn't a CHQ/Shuttle list.....it is a CHQ, Republic, and Shuttle all on one list that is known as the 'Chautauqua Airlines Seniority List'. Confusing, basically the shuttle merger affects EVERYONE b/c it is only one list.

im in the republic 170 class, do i have to be a republic FO until I upgrade?

or can i go over to Shuttle America if I bid it? what are the rumors for this?

From what I understand, The D.O wants us to be company locked until you upgrade. At which time you can upgrade to any of the 2 companies provided there are openings.

Dont worry there will still be plenty of 170 spots for you.

I ran into a couple of 170 F/O pukes in the IND crew room the other day. They were sure to let me know what equipment they were on.

I havent met an FO yet who thinks they are God's gift b/c they got the 170. If I do, I'll let you know...

How many pilots are on the 170 right now?
How many are the planning on hiring into the 170 this year and next?
What will the base be for the Delta 170?
Will you be able to bid from base to base for the 170? i.e if you get the 170 for Delta Republic can you bid over to the 170 on the Shuttle side to get an IND, CMH or ORD base?

Thanks for answering any or all of these questions

D

Thanks to Mike O and Batman for their info. I have the same questions as ILINI. If Bpilot gets the 170 and is based in CMH for "Delta" on the Republic cert, can he/she bid an ORD domicile as FO when seniority allows to fly for "United" on the Shuttle cert????? If not, it is almost like a domicile lock until able to upgrade.

Thanks in advance

if you get republic you will not be able to go to shuttle b/c its a different certificate. in other words, cost the company more money to re train you under the other cert.current 170 bases for rep are indy and columbus

you can change base as far as i am concerned under any cert. just cannot bid a base under rep and then bid a base under shuttle (changing cert)

i dunno how mnay 170 pilots we have. its been stated that B.B. wants to get 170s and 190s, no more 50 seat jets

Does anyone know anything about the Delta 170's?

How many are there going to be? How many seats? What bases other then CMH?

Im doing Rep b/c I live in Atlanta. Also, I've seen the United operation and all I hear is Delta is by far so much better. So I am hoping that is correct.

That is 100% CORRECT. You'll enjoy the Delta side way more (known from personal experience).

As I stated above, Bases are CMH and IND for REP delta

As far as seats, I believe 70 seats just like we have been getting. As far as how many. Press release that came out on Dec 23rd of 2004 (found it on yahoo business) started I believe 16 or 17 E-170s but I have heard that a lot more will be going to delta...how many is I dunno but definately 16-17 E-170s

CHQ folks.

What is the minimum time between two interviews @ CHQ? I received the "You Suck" letter the first time and still want another opportunity to apply.

Thanks.
